Swansea Bay has 6 miles of sandy beaches, where your kids can play in the surf. Out on Gower Peninsula, the bays at Rhossili and Oxwich are both family friendly. Blackpill Lido is perfect for smaller children: They can splash about safely in its knee-deep pools. And children and adults alike will enjoy indoor LC Waterpark, whose facilities are designed for all abilities.

Sports and adventure


There are plenty of activities to keep adventure-loving kids happy, like racing around the track at Skidz Karting or bowling at Tenpin Swansea. Children can swing through the trees on high ropes, crawl through tunnels, and fly down zip lines at Go Ape Margam, in Margam Country Park, 10 miles out of town.

Playing in the park


Swansea is home to several parks where your kids can let off steam. The largest, Singleton, is 2 miles from the centre. Its 250 acres of trees and grass lawns also include a boating lake, a miniature golf course, and an adventure playground. Older visitors will enjoy the park's botanical gardens.

Boat trips


If you fancy a boat cruise, you can take to the sea or river. Gower Coast Adventures operates excursions from Mumbles that explore the Gower Peninsula coast. There's a good chance you'll spot dolphins or seals. To visit Swansea's inland waterways, you can board the "Copper Jack" for a River Tawe Cruise. Kids can learn about the city's industrial heritage, and you may catch a glimpse of some riverbank wildlife.

River Tawe Cruise


Reserve places in advance for 2-hour trips aboard the "Copper Jack." It sails daily around Swansea Marina and up the River Tawe.
