Hilton Garden Inn Windhoek
8/10 Good
"Overall, a great location to stay in the CBD. I give the food a 2.5/5, but there are plenty of restaurants to choose from in the area. There is a self service washer and dryer, but there is only a single machine so I would suggest the hotel add at least 2 more. Two of the bartenders make great cocktails and the bar is a good location to meet locals, especially during game days."
"I stayed in one of the camping2go tent things. They're really actually pretty cool and spacious. If you're looking to properly camp, the kitchenette thing has blooming everything you need.
I did notice quite quickly that the mosquitos love to hang around this kitchenette area, so come prepared.
Dinner and breakfast are decent, though it turned out the money paid for these was the most I'd paid for any meal in the whole 10 days I was travelling in Namibia."
"Thank you to Martina, Ludwig and all the staff, who were wonderful. An organised and friendly hotel and within stepping distance of the sea and easy walk to the town and Strand area. Breakfast choices were fresh and plentiful too."

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Namibia
Book for the cheapest times: The most affordable time to visit Namibia is between January and March, when hotel prices are typically lower. For those on a budget, a stay of at least 2 days is recommended to fully appreciate the country’s significant landmarks and rich cultural heritage. During your visit, you can explore various historical sites, natural wonders, and cultural attractions, all offering great value for money. With the right timing, prices might drop, making it an even more budget-friendly option for travellers looking to experience Namibia's unique offerings.
Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To uncover last-minute deals in Namibia, visit the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you may discover discounted rates on accommodations as your travel date approaches. Enabling email alerts or push notifications from Hotels.com could keep you informed about flash sales and special last-minute offers, helping you secure the best prices. Additionally, the Smart Shopping feature in the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, so you're more likely to see when prices drop or rooms become available, ensuring you can book a spontaneous getaway.
Be flexible with dates: Prices can fluctuate depending on factors like the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your travel dates may help you save on your stay in a hotel in Namibia. For those seeking a distinctive experience, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised atmosphere and can sometimes offer better value. When you book with Hotels.com, we’ll inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price leans towards the higher end, we’ll recommend more budget-friendly dates that could help you secure a better deal.
Consider your location: Staying in the heart of major cities in Namibia certainly offers the allure of convenience, but it often comes at a premium. Accommodations in city centres are more likely to be costly, leaving budget-conscious travellers seeking alternatives. In contrast, smaller towns and rural areas tend to be more affordable, providing a chance to stretch your budget further. For those willing to venture a bit further, hotels outside the city centre may present better rates, although this could mean additional travel to reach key attractions. Exploring nearby cities can also be a savvy option, as they often boast a wealth of experiences while remaining budget-friendly.
