Where to stay in Yuen Long

Exploring Yuen Long

In Hong Kong, the term Yuen Long can refer to the traditional market town named Yuen Long San Hui, Yuen Long New Town, the district containing both of these areas, or the plain on which this scenic part of the New Territories West is located. Yuen Long may seem remote from the more urban areas of Kowloon and Hong Kong Island, but Castle Peak Road has connected this area formerly known as Un Long with the rest of Hong Kong since 1898.

Yuen Long may not contain as many hotels as other parts of Hong Kong, but Hong Kong Gold Coast offers a four-star luxury beach resort experience along the nearby Golden Beach, while the four-star Four Points by Sheraton is within four kilometres of the area. Yuen Long itself includes many of Hong Kong's most beautiful and serene natural landmarks such as its namesake Yuen Long Park and the Ping Shan Heritage Trail, which takes trekkers past several buildings and structures which once belonged to the prominent Tang clan.
