We didn’t stay at Paros hotel. We had a booking but when we arrived at about 16.15 yesterday afternoon there was no one on duty at reception. We called the telephone number displayed on the counter and explained we were waiting at reception and the man who answered said, “ I know.” We wait about 20 minutes for someone to turn up but no one came. Eventually, I wandered down into the hotel calling out and an Asian woman came up. We didn’t know if she was a guest or staff. She took a photo of our passports with her phone and asked us to pay €40 in cash. We do not have Euros and wanted to pay £31.23 with our English debit card as indicated on our booking confirmation but she would not accept that. She telephoned the man who we spoke to on the phone when we arrived and we had to wait another 15 minutes for him to arrive by car.
He also wanted us to pay in cash in Euros or Turkish Lira but we were unable to do so.
By this time we were very frustrated at the poor service. Enough was enough and we left and booked into another hotel near by where the staff were more obliging. David and Heather Chinery
