Great economical option

The room was very clean and the overall experience was great. Considering the central location on the price point, we did not mind staying in the sub basement hotel. In the nicest possible way, it looks more like a wine cellar perfect for a few nights stay.

Central to a lot of tourist sites, shopping and restaurants. Communication with Hosts were good. Access via code worked except for last day and had to knock on front door. Room was smaller than expected (knew it wouldn't be huge just hard to picture). Room faced inner courtyard which didn't allow much natural light and I kept curtains closed to protect privacy. Room had fridge which was helpful.

The location is great. Just 1 min away from the Opera Subway Station. Everything is less than 30 minutes away by walking. It is super easy to access the hotel and the room. The only thing to mention is that I couldn't increase the room temperature even though there was a control in the room. I got a little cold during the night.

The room we paid for wasn't what we were given. The room was clean and functionable. The bed was hard, as if you're laying on the display in a store. The ac didn't work, being that all the rooms are under a building air is stagnant. Told the front desk and the reply was just turn off the thermostat (which it was) and to open a window because it was cool outside. being that our windows opened into an alley and it was raining that really wasn’t an option. We didn’t want to wake with someone or something in our room as well. As well as the handle on the window was broken. You sweated in the room just standing there. It just was a disappointment.? we left, told the front desk who then said oh I will go look, but we were frustrated beyond needed to be. It’s a great location, basic stay, but don’t hold expectations high.

La noche del 28 no pude dormir debido a que debido a una falta de seguridad en la entrada entraron varias personas gritando, corriendo por los pasillos y lo que es peor fumando. El altercado duró un par de horas hasta que vino l policía y nadie del hotel se ha hecho responsable.

Otro aspecto, la estancia y el personal han estado bien pero la última noche de mi estancia hubo gente corriendo por los pasillos, gritando y lo que es peor fumando. Estaban en las habitaciones adiahcwntes y podía respirar el olor en mi habitación. No pude descansar en toda la noche.

As instalações estavam impecavelmente limpas, inclusive com arrumação dos quartos diariamente. O tamanho do quarto é muito bom e confortável, e tranquilo, sem qualquer ruído para te incomodar. Para ficar perfeito eu incluiria umas prateleiras ao lado do móvel do frigobar, para deixar algumas roupas para o dia a dia. O café da manhã é simples mas fresco. O ponto negativo é a reposição dos itens, demorava ou não acontecia. Os funcionários são bem atenciosos e prestativos. Ótima localização. Adoramos ficar hospedados neste hostel. super recomendo.

Location was great - just off the plaza mayor for shopping and food options plus walking distance to all the sights of the city. Room was small but clean. Parking spaces are small and the car is only accessible if an employee goes with you to the nearby parking garage. Expedia/whatsapp messages were in Spanish and English, but in person, Spanish was the only option.

It is so cute

This hotel is in the very heart of Madrid’s aristocracy. Just 5-minute walk from the Palacio Real, it is very difficult to find something located more conveniently at this price point. The hotel is built below road level and the rooms look like wine cellars. Very cozy with their exposed red bricks and large footprint. If you like opening the curtains to let the sun in, this hotel may not be for you. Unfortunately, the bathroom is a little sacrificed and quite small. Definitely two people cannot fit unless you want to experience what it is like being on Tokyo’s metro during rush hour. Fortunately, the shower is spacious. Breakfast is served in the very small lobby and if the hotel is crowded you may end-up having to take your tray to the room, although this has never been the case during our three-day stay. It is a buffet style breakfast with very basic selection. I do recommend the hotel because it provides a very different vibe from any other hotel you may have been in. Stay away if you do not like the idea of sleeping “underground” or in what may seem as a luxurious prison or you absolutely want to see the scenery and what the weather is like before going out.
