Bad bartenders
The grounds were beautifully designed and kept. Was disappointed with the bartenders and food located by the pool Umgalo. Was ignored by the bartenders more than once only to have them service other patrons that arrived later than our party. Very selective.

Fair 4.0
Overpriced
OVERPRICED. So disappointing. So here is the thing about this hotel: only one tower got the rooms renovated. The rest of the hotel has never been updated (I guess since the 90s?) and the old rooms are at the level of a 2 stars. Imagine we've paid $700 per night (breakfast not included - buffet is $60 per person), and they sent us to one of their old rooms... at least they tried. We stayed 2 minutes in there and came back to the front desk and asked to change room. The young lady was extremely nice and gave us one of their updated room, it was better. But honestly, it left us with a bitter taste in the mouth. $700/night (excl. resort fee), $60 per person for breakfast buffet, $30 for daily parking... Things add up pretty quickly. Everything in this hotel is "okay". The updated rooms are okay, food is okay, it's very noisy (forget it if you're looking for a quiet, romantic getaway - this hotel is for families with kids who will scream and jump around - kids :) ) and you'll need to go the pool at 8am the latest to get a chair. For $700, you're expecting better than a okay hotel. We spent our last night in the Four Seasons Wailea just to compare you know. Well, if you can afford an extra $200, don't hesitate. OMG, if only we knew! No comparison... We'll never go back to the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa and for the price we paid, I'm actually pretty upset with Hyatt. So I'll avoid Hyatt hotels in the future, for personal and business trips (for me and for my corporate team).

I would’ve expected more for what they’re charging her room. And OK resort

Club level lacking
We had a wonderful stay at the Hyatt. The grounds and atmosphere were wonderful however, the hotel itself is a little outdated. Be prepared, there are extra fees for everything from $32 resort fee to $30 valet parking fee. Maid forgot to make up our room one day. They offered us a $10 credit for not making up the room. At these prices, it should have been more. We also chose the Club Level. Compared to other hotels we have stayed at with the Club level, the food and items at this hotels club level were really lacking. Every time we stopped by, there was nothing left or very little offered. Club level in other hotels we stayed at was much better. Restaurants are very overpriced like just about everything on the island. Overall, a great time but be prepared as it is very expensive.

Paradise
Along the west coast of Maui. Golfing just outside the hotel. Very friendly staff. Gorgeous sunsets. Pools are a little tricky to get in and out of if you have trouble stepping down onto the ledge that goes around most of the pool.

Good 6.0
Meh... just ok
I booked an ocean front room and tech that’s what I got but the view was partially blocked view from palm trees. To me that’s not ocean front, it’s a partial view. I asked if I could change rooms but they claimed they didn’t have any more rooms. The bathroom was beyond tiny, had to do yoga to get in there. I found a damp pillow case on the floor in there. The second night I went down to get a drink from the pool bar, bartender took my order and never made it and took another couples order and I didn’t get my drink. For the price I paid for my room and the brand I was quiet disappointed. I did complain when I checked out and they did give me a credit kinda took the annoyance out of it. Prob wouldn’t stay here again though.
