The room was clean, but the hallways had a funky smell. We notice a wet floor sign under one of the air vents outside our room, so I don't know if the vent leaked. Our room was right above the tiki bar area, so on a few nights we were kept up, until 1am, by the loud people below. The shuttle service was also okay. We got where we needed to go, but the pickup times are at odd times especially when there are holiday events being held. On one occassion, on our 2nd night, the last shuttle for the night never showed at the bus stop to pick up from Universal. The park closed at 8pm, the last shuttle was, I believe, right after 9pm. We ended up taking a taxi back to the hotel since no one knew what happened to the shuttle. I did speak to someone about this inconvenience and was told that I would be reimbursed for 3 days of resort fees. Upon checking out, the front desk staff told me I was all set. I asked for a receipt to double check. I explained that I spoke with corporate and a person the night the problem occurred and was told it was taken care of and I would be all set checking out. He had already charged me nine days of resort fees and then had printed another paper showing he was now reimbursing me three days. Also, don't fall for the scam of taking a 90 minute tour of the sister resort. The tour takes 3 hours and the sales person got an attitude with my husband and I when we said we were not interested we also missed a few hours of park time at universal.

Don't buy anything from the receoptio,it's a scam
When we checked in the hotel, we tried to buy the universal tickets from the concierge because I've done that in other hotel before. One of the Clerk told us we can have $200 off if we promised to join in a visit tour to the orange lake resort for 1.5 hours. The staff kept trying to us that it's only a tour to promote the hotel. We decided to join in the tour. After he sold us the tickets, he tried to sell us a 4days3nights package. He said as long as we pay $199 for the package now, then whenever we checked in, we can get our money back. It's like a free getaway. As a student, it does sounds appealing to us. so we bought it. 1.IT'S NOT A TOUR,it's a sales presentation with up to 5 people who are desperately trying to sell something useless to you. The whole thing last at least 2 hrs. It's really obvious the whole thing is a scam because they tried to sell this crappy product to us by insulting us. They would also say today is the best deal, you can't have it anywhere. Come on, there were at least 30 people in a row with us coming into this tour, not to mention there would be a new bunch of people coming in every 2 hours. 2.The so called free getaway wasn't really free. Because we are foreigners, we didn't look into detail of the package(English is not our first language). When we were done with the sales presentation, it just reminded me of this package. I looked it up and guess what. There would be another SALES PRESENTATION if we want to use this package. Bad experience!

This is a decent hotel located about 15-25 minutes away from Disney theme parks, Universal and Sea World. It has it's own shuttle, but the hours are weird and not all day so I only used it twice. I had major issues with using it one night to get back from Disney, I had to call the company that does it (because the hotel doesn't operate the shuttle) and complain. The hotel is a decent price, but gets you with the $23 a day resort fee. That pays for your wifi, shuttle useage, extra amenities, pool use, etc. The hotel has a pretty nice pool with a bar nearby. But you can't take drinks into the pool, and service was sorta crappy as they had only one bartender and she had to also go get food from inside if anyone ordered, so for some periods of time the bar would be unstaffed. Then when she'd come back she would have a line of people wanting serviced. Drinks were pretty good though. They have a business center, a small arcade (with Guitar Hero, Big Buck Hunter, racing games, etc) but sometimes some of the games were broken when I went in. They also have a "movie theater", that plays a different movie every day. There's an Applebees connected to the hotel, service is sorta crappy but food is decent. Didn't like the breakfast buffet though. Beds and rooms are nice, some are outside and some are inside. You can hear through the walls/doors sometimes though, so that was a little annoying. Otherwise really nice rooms for the price. Spacious and comfy!

Exceptional 10.0
Excellent hotel at a fair rate
For the price (~$150/night @ Sunday) this was an EXCELLENT hotel: The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable of the surrounding area and recommended an available room that would suit our needs (quiet). The porter was convenient since we were dragging enough luggage for our upcoming cruise. TONS of retail and food options within walking/driving distance. The hotel has a gate system to the rear parking area and was equipped with elevators on the back side in each little section of the building structure for convenience. The room itself was exactly what we booked with two queen sized-beds and we even had a little balcony overlooking the pool area below. Everything seemed cleaned and well maintained. Some VERY minor nitpicking items: The beds were actually set on some really large/tall frames. It wasn't an issue for most of us, but our 3 year old needed a boost to get up. We strategically put him and his older brother in the bed next to the wall and lined that side with our suitcases to keep him from falling off just in case. They also have limited shuttle services available so we ended up driving over to Disney Springs for dinner/shopping instead of Uber-ing it. Depending on which direction you come from, you may have to wait a couple of minutes to pull into the hotel as there is not a light in front of the entrance and the street is fairly busy. If you are coming in on the opposite side you may want to go further past to a light and pull around.

Above everything its not a bad hotel, but when it comes to revenue that is there only concern. Making the customer happy was not the managers concern. I had made reservation on Expedia, due to the fact i was not sure i would want to stay and extra night i didn't book 2 nights. The clerk in the front desk was very polite and asked me once i went to my room just call him and he would book the night for me, they were almost booked up to 90 percent, I took my bags to my room and returned to the front desk immediately, were i met the manager Toni, she and her colleague were bantering back and forth about which price to charge me because they were almost booked. I had paid 85.00 dollars for my night, did not mind paying a little higher but 120.00 dollars more i believe was ridiculous. Since i already had a reservation. I work renovating hotels and they need new carpets ceilings need to be re-painted i can see many more things that are necessary in the room, but will keep to my own since that's not the situation at hand.
