    Hidden Gem

We’ve stayed in over 25 hotels in Chicago and the Ambassador is one of my favorites. Although it is an older property, it is in great shape with a rich history. Tucked in the beautiful Gold Coast neighborhood, it’s cozy, quiet, the staff are attentive and you feel calm returning to your temporary home. Excellent location to access Lincoln Park, the lakefront or northern neighborhoods on foot, bike or car and obviously an easy walk south to the excitement of Rush Street and downtown. The room rates are also very good.

The hotel itself is great but I hate their use of single use toiletries. Other than that, it was a great stay.

    Everything was top notch

From the time we arrived at almost midnight we were greeted and treated with class. Everyone was friendly and accommodating and the hotel is an awesome little piece of history. Will be staying again definitely

The location and service are terrific and the lobby is beautiful. Sadly, the rooms are dumps-poorly furnished, outdated, no amenities. We started in a deluxe king that had no chair to sit in other than an old wooden desk chair. We upgraded to a suite which had too many over stuffed, old pieces of uncomfortable furniture with bad white slipcovers. The rooms need a complete update, including enough plugs for electronics and fans in the baths.

We had an excellent stay at the Ambassador. Staff was all very welcoming and service was quick. Our room was clean and comfortable. It was easy walking distance to excellent restaurants in a nice part of town. We plan to stay again in the future.
