At Home Every Time in Mammoth
I love this place, and stay here every time I'm in Mammoth. The staff are friendly, helpful and the resort feels like home away from home. I've never had an issue with a room here and they are clean, spacious and very comfortable. Will definitely stay again, and again!

    Quaint friendly older lodge
Room with 2 queens was small for 4 people. Only 1 chair, older with bathroom upgraded. Coffee in lobby, which was very picturesque with pool table, bar and seating around fire. Non-refundable booking seemed not as accommodating or adaptable as most places in case your circumstances change. Hot tub was a good size and nice. Wifi never did work for me.

    Poor value
Overall this is an average quality hotel (or mediocre). I strongly disapprove of their practice of charging a "resort fee" over and above the room rate - especially since many of the "resort" amenities are not even available in winter. The quoted room rate should include all mandatory charges except taxes, period. To do otherwise is false advertising in my view. They justify this fee by listing the "extra" services covered by it, which includes housekeeping! Every hotel I've ever stayed at in the world includes free housekeeping. Furthermore, the hot tub and steam room were not even working during our visit, the pool was drained for the winter, and we found it almost impossible to log onto the wifi. To be fair, they did refund a portion of the resort fee after we complained. Each day they told guests that they were working on the hot tub and it would be working "tomorrow". They were still saying this to new arrivals on our last day, yet no work appeared to have been done. There are two other hotels in the immediate neighborhood along Hwy 203, and I've stayed at both. They both offer FREE breakfast, year-round indoor pools, covered parking and elevators, none of which exist at SNR. Yet they are roughly the same basic rate, and neither charges a "resort fee" (meaning they are actually cheaper for a better overall experience). You would do well to look at these other nearby hotels and skip SNR.
