Dont Do it - Stay somewhere Else
This stay started very poorly. I arrived from London UK to the hotel at about 7PM on a Sunday night only to be told my room wasn't ready yet! I had a normal pre paid booking so this didn't make sense to me. I was told it would be a 1-2 hour wait for a room and I could wait in the Lobby or she could check with her manager out the back if there was another room available - I was a bit shocked as I travel for business almost every week internationally and have never had this experience before. Fair enough before 3PM but not at 7PM!. She came back from talking to her manager who she said she 'haggled' with to get me a suite for just $50 per night more - outrageous - I didn't want a suite I just wanted my room that I had paid for and after nearly 3 hours in Toronto arrivals immigration queues the last thing I wanted was to sit in the lobby because the hotel 'had been busy last night' - I absolutely refused to pay for an upgrade and magically a room of the type I paid for became available - clearly this is a deceptive sales technique and I have always been a Fairmont customer but thought I would try the King Edward but never again. There was also a half eaten biscuit in the lounge area of my room on the floor when i checked in and it was still there 5 days later!! so clearly the room servicing needs looking at. On the positive side those staff not trying to rob me were very very pleasant and efficient.

Great Location
We only stayed one night to see a concert, but great location for walking to wherever you want to go. Loved the new modern rooms and the lemon/lime water in the lobby. Staff was very helpful. Even better, we were given a free upgrade when we checked in!
