    Amazing customer service
I stayed at The Orlando because of a conference held at Sofitel hotel, which was really pricey to stay at. The Orlando was a fantastic alternative - close by to the Beverly Centre for shopping, next to several great restaurants/cafes, and also an easy, fast Uber-ride away from sight-seeing locations. First off, the customer service was fantastic. There were two new trainees at the front counter who helped me, and they were both so friendly, nice, and knowledgeable. One of them with glasses (forgot his name) offered the best places around where I could check out. Since it was my first time exploring LA on my own, that was really helpful. They even let me check in earlier than usual, which was very nice. The hotel room was so big! There was a huge bed and a large area with a couch and a coffee table, plus an office desk. It was very spacious and comfy. One concern however was the temperature. On the first night the room was too cold, so I asked the front counter staff to increase the temperature since I couldn't control it. On the next night though, it was too warm. The third night was just about right. Another thing was that the shower takes a while to get hot, and the door to the bathroom automatically closes, which was a little annoying. The outside can also be noisy with the cars bustling by and people talking on the streets, but wasn't a big deal since the room was spacious enough for me to not hear the noise as I moved away from the window.

Great location, expensive parking, excellent staff
We came over Labor day weekend which was busy, but came to a pleasant surprise when we saw the location of the hotel. It's located within walking distance of numerous shops down Third street, and on the corner is the Beverly Center mall. We drove here but next time I will fly--the valet is $40 per night and there was no parking anywhere in the city. It's cheaper to Uber everywhere, and that's just what we did most of the time. Santa Monica wasn't far and Hollywood was even closer, so this location is unbeatable. Down the street is the Fairfax area and The Grove/the Farmer's Market. The room overlooked the pool (which was loud at times during the day), and was on the second floor. Walls were kind of thin but the hotel was very quiet during the whole stay, and it had a peaceful vibe as mostly everybody was out during the day or night. Everything was super clean and renovated--the most important part for me! The bathroom is absolutely beautiful and everything was well-kept besides the mini-bar, which was far too expensive for my interest anyway. Snacks and drinks were available in the room, and although a slim selection, continental breakfast was good. BE WARY that the room has NO mini-fridge or microwave, in fact, there is no microwave on location at all. This caused us some trouble as we had to continuously fill our tiny cooler with ice to keep food from spoiling. Besides the fridge/microwave issue and parking, this is exactly the place I will be staying when I go to LA.

    Fair 4.0
They had a very strict check in time, we first arrived at 2.35, and being told that the room was not ready, they suggested us to sit and drink and their Cleo cafe. We had plan to meet friends at other place, so we came back later at 7.30pm. First impression of the front staff was not good, he said that he didn't know about parking rules in the neighborhood, told us not to park on the street, he even looked surprised when he found out that we already paid for it. We understood that he tried to make us using their vallet parking ($42/day). We finally managed and ended up only paid 50cents for 4nights of our stay. The staff should be willing to clearly inform their guest that for street parking 8PM-8AM it was free, on Sunday we could park free till 11AM. And 8AM-8PM $1/hr, which we never had to park during that time. And when we were booking this hotel from Expedia, we were using filter to search for a hotel that provided a microwave in room, and it was like this hotel offering if we needed a microwave in the room as a complimentary, we should request it. So we booked and requested the microwave. However it turned out that we had to pay $25/night if we wanted the microwave.

Clean and Nice, but shotty internet
This was a beautiful hotel with nice staff and a clean room. I would have loved it if I wasn't there for work. For the whole 5 days I was there I was unable to get the internet to work, they kept telling me it was my virus software and I needed to turn it off. But I had two work computers and couldn't figure it out, so essentially I had no internet. Also, they don't have an easy access to wall outlets. Most hotels these days have something up on the desk or the nightstand, but they didn't which meant I had to climb under the bed or desk to plug in my stuff. The last thing I didn't like was that they wanted $40 a night to valet my car. When I asked the valet for other options, he said "You can street park but I really don't recommend that". Well - I streek parked the entire time and it wasn't that bad. You can park for free from 8p to 8a, and I was gone all day anyway so it wasn't that big a deal. Also across the street there is a daytime garage that charges a dollar an hour up to $10 max. Overall nice hotel, just some of the details didn't suit me. That's why I gave 3 stars.

    Great Stay!
We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 night stay at The Orlando Hotel. Staff were outstanding; we were able to check in early & we were always greeted with a friendly smile & a 'Welcome Back' each time we returned to the hotel. They were also very helpful in giving advice & recommendations for dining/travel info etc. The rooms were modern, clean & a good size. The comfortable king size bed, dark curtains & the quiet location ensured a great nights sleep. There were also plenty of dining options only a short walk away. Our only dissapointments were that the gym was very hot (the aircon was not enough to combat the exposed glass doors/windows) & the included breakfast; it was only pastries etc. Some healthier options (bowl of mixed fruits) & maybe bread & toaster or cereal & milk would have been nice. Overall though, a wonderful stay & would highly recommend.
