Overall a Great Stay at a good location
The Don Cesar is the Best property on the beach in the St. Pete area. I used to live down there and have stayed at several properties. The positives were the service, food and location (beach). The negatives were if you aren't on the beach side the cars are loud on the road on the other side. I could hear the people in the next room like they were standing next to me, there was an adjacent door in our room that had a balcony. If I had to choose a room with a balcony on the road side versus a smaller room on the beach side I would have picked the beach side. All the rooms with the balcony on the beach were occupied or I would have stayed in one of the rooms. Also, it seemed like if you didn't stay at the Don you could reserve beach chairs and those visitors seemed to outnumber the guests and it was very crowded and they had the better chairs at the beach.

Best surprise hotel in years
The hotel was absolutely incredible. We arrived just before sunset, and the valet said-just go look at the sunset, the car will be here when you return. That was the beginning of their incredible service. Clean, nice, special, and so historic. I had no idea it was going to be so wonderful.
