Overall experience good, but can be improved.
We arranged to eat our evening dinners in your Backyard restaurant on sequential evenings (We pre-booked). On Friday 8th September the noise from a party in the same restaurant was so loud that we had to find an alternative place to eat at late notice. We dialed Room Service from the room telephone which after numerous tries (no one answered) went to Housekeeping. We were then told to dial 660 which again went to housekeeping, then told to dial 770 only to be told there would be a 45 minute wait for room food.'We found another restaurant and ate there. If people book a party - why can't you supply a suitable room and not inconvenience other hotel guests ? Why can't you display the room service menu on the room TV ? Looking at it on a mobile phone is not good enough. Why can't we see our up to date account on the room TV ? Overall we found the hotel very nice, but there are some things that certainly can be improved.

Late check in - unable to call the hotel directly
Good location, friendly staff. Late check in instead of early check in. My room was not ready at the check in time. I arrived at 13:00 and was told it will be ready soon. I had to wait 2 hours by the pool -in long trousers - because I didn’t receive a phonecall ad promised. I tried to call and was unable call the front office when ringing the local Cairns phone-number and ended up at customer service in Malaysia. They were nice but couldn’t help. I booked trough 3rd party (Hotels.com Expedia) and I feel that I was treated 2nd class- despite Expedia promises early check in as I am Gold member. Disappointed as I wasted 2 hours at the pool.
