High Marks
The rooms with kitchenette, washer/dryer, etc., were very comfortable and spacious. Please note that other rooms are smaller. Very well located near downtown and botanical gardens. The personnel could not have been friendlier or more helpful. A strong contender for my next visit back.

2/10 Poor

An awful checking in experience
One of the worst experiences I had ever with a hotel. I arrived at about 11 am and find that I had no place to temporarily stop my car to go inside to register. Finally I have to stop at disabled parking and ask my wife to go inside to check in and ask where I can park while I am sitting at driver’s seat ready to move if a disabled person or a police show up. There were 4 car parking positions in front of the disabled parking but all have a car parked with nobody inside though the posted sign stating those are for check in and cars can only stay there for 5 min. There is no hotel employee managing this critical function. After about 5 min, my wife came back told me that she checked in and hotel employees told her there is no parking left and we should drive around to find a parking by ourselves nearby. I told her to go inside the room and I go out to find a parking. After 20 min driving around, I still cannot find a parking. I was having phone issues to contact my wife to ask her to come back to the car so that we can tour the city. I drove back to the hotel and found the four positions supposed to be used for check in were still occupied by the same 4 cars and I have to park in the disabled position again and run inside to ask the clerk to call my wife to come down. There were 3 clerks standing behind the counter talking among themselves without a single customer there. They were very friendly. I think the hotel is mismanaged.

4/10 Fair

Needs some serious re-thinking
Well I paid £529 for a 4 night stay here and was looking forward to it. Boy was I disappointed. The room is basic with a large bathroom with a washer/ dryer Kitchenette and small table 2 hard chairs ... ONE comfy chair so hardly a studio. The view was appalling on the bottom floor overlooked by the street. The 'fitness room' was badly located on the 3rd floor and the treadmill was not to be used after 10pm... Re locate ground floor! Rubble on the floor hadn't even been cleaned up from the ceiling leak and could have easily been done by one of the over staffed front desk people and a bucket placed to catch the drips whilst waiting for the engineers who had been or were coming that day depending on who you spoke to. It didn't get fixed. Car park is tiny and a shambles for $25 a day, you need a key card to get down there in the lift so checking out is load up your car, pull out of the car park and walk back to reception to hand your keys in. I read all the other reviews about the fabulous front desk staff but they all must have had personality changes the days we were there. The key card holder had the wifi code on which had been over stamped so illegible, and when my 19 yr old couldn't read it they said 'she's 19 and can't read a code?' I overheard a conversation about a lady not being bright enough to understand something. Unsure if this was a guest or colleague but unacceptable. A Female staff pushed straight past my daughter to get in the lift first..rude!

A pleasant experience
Staff is excellent. I felt welcome and like family. Note, ask to pay for onsite parking. Perfectly located in town. The hotel has a great outside bar that is well maintained and modern. The only drawback is cost. You will pay more than whats on offer.

8/10 Very good

Hotel? Or Motel?
We feel for the businesses in Queenstown with staffing issues but I feel this problem has been going on long enough now that hotels/motels should be able to identify what needs addressing at the time of booking and whether or not you are able to provide what you say you will. For us this is not a hotel at the moment. The only bar on the premises was closed our whole stay. (3 nights Sunday to Wednesday) Nowhere to relax and have a drink at the hotel. When there is no bar, even temporarily, it should be stated in the hotel amenities. To us it’s now a motel! The lake view in the 1 bedroom apartment was lovely however the room was a disability room which is never sexy! We asked to change rooms and were told all the rooms were like this!?? Also the room hadn’t been fully cleaned from the previous guests. Both bins were full of rubbish. Close to town which is a plus!
