The good things: location, comfortable bed, good air conditioning in room, nice view (paid extra for view), good complimentary shampoo, etc. The bad things: the room was literally missing a lamp, the furniture was in poor condition (the sleigh bed's finish was bubbled and super ugly (like Motel 6 ugly), the bathroom floor was stained, there were makeshift "repairs" done in the bathroom to cover missing tiles under the mirror, both of the lampshades in the room were stained and/or damaged, there was no really cool wall paper or art inside the room as expected (the decor was totally blah), the bathroom became a big wet mess because of the way the shower is designed, the "resort fee" covers wifi (which is free throughout the building-no password required) and bottled water (2 warm bottles per day which you must request), the hair dryer was broken (only operated on "low") and appeared to be from the 1970s, there was no coffee maker so we requested one and it was also from circa 1970, the wifi was slow, the cable was slow and frequently blinked off for a minute at a time or longer, no easy-to-reach outlets near the bed (you have to get on your hands and knees), there is no drawer storage for clothes,no umbrella in room, only one super slow, super small elevator, he lobby and elevator were incredibly hot, most of the staff was basically indifferent (their attitude here in NC would be considered rude, but giving them the benefit of the doubt) - except for Patrick, who was helpful.

HOTEL US TERRIBLE. This hotel was supposed to be a non-smoking, one day there was smoke coming in to my room, there were people smoking.. I called the front desk and the woman by the name of Daniela from Romania could not care less! She was so rude to me, and she told me that she WOULD not ask anyone to stop smoking. I reminded her that her hotel is non-smoking and that she had the right to send somebody up there and ask them to please abide by the rules of the hotel. She did nothing, I called back again, and she was once again very rude to me. I am in an ASTHMATIC, I told her that, she could NOT care less !!! She promised to have the Manager called me, I never received a phone call! No follow up, no apology, nothing. Rooms small. Hotel was so dark! The lighting in the room & bathroom was horrible, I could not put my make up on I had to ask for a lamp to be sent up. SUPER NOISY - if you have the air conditioner or the heater running, there is also a fan that is super loud! Could not sleep and the only way to make a quiet it was to turn it off which meant not having air conditioning or heat. I did a survey which promise to give me a free clocked out, never received it! My point is, overall it was a terrible experience, there are so many hotels in New York City, do yourself a favor and get a hotel anywhere else but here. I was there on business, and so will never stay there again.

Convenient location but would not stay again
This hotel did not live up to my expectations. It is in a great area, very convenient to Times Square and touristy things that we wanted to do, but the hotel itself left a lot to be desired. The staff was actually quite helpful with a lot of the issues we encountered, but there were a LOT of issues. When we first arrived, problem #1 was the locks on the door. They would not open the door. We had to go up and down to the main desk half a dozen times to get this sorted the first night and then again every single night. We stayed 3 nights and I couldn’t connect to the WiFi for more that 5 minutes at a time before it stopped working. I overheard many other people complaining to the staff about the WiFi too. The shower had one of those detachable shower heads, which usually there’s somewhere to detach it from, but this one did not have a stationary place to keep it so you had to shower one handed and hold the shower head with the other. It was incredibly inconvenient. The water also took a good 5-10 minutes to heat up so you weren’t showering in ice cold water. Speaking of the bathroom, the water flow to the toilet was so slow that you had to wait like 10 minutes minimum to flush it again, which is not great when you’re sharing a bathroom and both people need to use it before you head out for the day. The bed is more of a personal preference, but it was WAY too soft and I had back pain from the bed. I honestly considered sleeping on the floor.

We check in we go to our room and find in getting ready that our bath mat is wet. No big deal. After being in our room for about 15 minutes there is a knock at the door and an employee says he is there to change an air filter. Afterward he says "must need to be reset" and leaves. We get back to our room later that evening to find that it is 80 degrees in our room and we cannot adjust the temperature. I called the front desk and talked to Patrick and he said they were fully booked and cannot move us, so we would have to deal with it and he would send someone to change the filter and "reset" it. I explained to him that someone had come to do that as soon as we checked in, before we realized there was some issue going on, and it was worse now than before. He said there was nothing he could do, he would send the filter person again and then contact an engineer. We waited up for 2 hours and no filter person arrived. In the morning with our room at almost 90 degrees, I went and talked to someone at the front desk about the issue and requested to speak to a manager. This lady was very helpful, got our room changed. But we had to go back to our 90 degree room and repack everything so they could move it while we were gone for the day. I was told a manager would be contacting me. Our items got moved, some of my things disappeared in the shuffle. The manager never attempted to contact me. Nor did they offer an upgrade or any kind of discount for the trouble. Very disappointing.

If you want some, just ask! No big whoop!
I chose this hotel for it's location. You're right in the middle of all the action, and steps away from Times Square and all the theaters. I checked in a bit before 3pm (more like 2:30) and they did have a room available for me. It's a small boutique hotel with a sushi restaurant (Red Moon) right on the first floor. If you're walking by, and you blink, you may miss the entrance. Whoever is at the front desk could greatly vary from cold as ice, to friendly and welcoming. It just depends on who's working that shift. The decor is all black and white, so it's very bougie/chic with a nighttime vibe (hence the name). Yes, the elevators are a bit on the slow side, but if you get a room on the 2nd floor, the stairs on the left goes right to the floor. It seems like since this hotel opened, it's been run down by tourists. It'll always have business because of location, but my ironing board was missing, no bathrobe, and only 2 hangers in the closest (one of which was broken). BUT it's a good thing I'm a low maintenance person. All these people that left bad reviews are spoiled. It just took a quick phone call downstairs to get a robe and more towels, and they were more than accommodating to bring me whatever I needed.
