One of the best
This hotel was amazing. Spacious room with an incredible bathtub. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay! Check out their bar for some equisite craft cocktails. They offered me a drink voucher upon check in!

Stayed the night to catch a Broadway show, the room was big and price was reasonable.

Couldn’t have picked better. We flew in on a red eye and were able to check in early for a quick nap. The staff was awesome. We were greeted by Neil at the front doors who is a great guy. He helps with luggage and anything else you need. What I really like about him is he’s not that shmoozer type that can get irritating in big cities. He’s just a straight up good guy who seems to genuinely like helping guests with anything they need. The rest of the staff was great too. All of them from the desk staff to the maids. The hotel is in a great spot. Two blocks from Times Square and the subway with lots of restaurants around and near many Broadway theaters. The area felt safe with lots of pedestrian traffic. The hotel itself is wonderful. Our room was stylish but quiet and very comfortable. I was really surprised that I didn’t hear traffic, garbage trucks, neighbors, the elevator. Nothing. Maybe a couple of sirens but that was about it. We slept great every night. The place has a great bar downstairs. On Friday night the bar was really hopping and we usually had a couple of drinks before heading out at night. The drinks are pricey but comparable to what you’d find at any other bar around there. Anyway, I highly recommend the Royalton and won’t even bother looking around for hotels when I return to NY. This is my place.

Great location- main selling point
Rooms are definitely small, as most NYC hotels are. The location is great which is honestly the main benefit of staying here. Had a room with no view (not expecting one) but was in a corner as such that there wasn’t even any sunlight to see what time of day it was. The sink faucets were turbo charged and would spray water literally everywhere which if you’re not expecting means you’re soaked before bed or heading out. Funky bathtub that also served as a shower- giant circular “disco ball”. Couches & carpets are pretty worn down. Essentially bare minimum for a hotel, but in a central spot. Bar at base of hotel always seemed bustling at night. Sufficient since we didn’t spend a ton of time in the room anyway.

Good stay, did not meet expectations
I thought the Royalton was a nice stay. Great bar. I purposefully purchased a room with a fireplace in it (who doesn't like fireplaces). Come to find out, the fireplace "didn't work" which is weird because it was wood burning. I did not ask for any compensation, as I'm not a fan of doing that. But, if you are looking to book a room here for the fireplace, chances are you will be let down.

We had a wonderful stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. The valet service was timely and courteous. We would stay here every time we’re in New York.

Poor 2.0
I stayed at the hotel on Saturday (2/8-2/9) and had a very disappointing experience. I booked through, and paid for a "king alcove" room. I was given a queen room. I specifically paid for a king room, which was more than double the price of a standard queen room. The pictures showed a fireplace in the king alcove room, but there wasn't one in my queen room. the room description also stated "city view" which it hardly was being on the second floor. when I requested a different room, a KING alcove room, I was told none were available and I was "compensated" with vouchers for free drinks and breakfast. these hardly make up for the price difference of the room I booked and the room I recieved. We did not even use the drink vouchers (4 in total, 2 were received as part of my status). on top of that, the fire alarm was going off half the day, with fire trucks blocking the road making it difficult to leave the hotel. all said, I really wish I stayed someplace else.
