We arrived on time at about 5.40 PM on Friday 1/9
Straight to reception.
We had asked for a view room if possible. Apparently not possible so we we were wedged in a the smallest single room just space to squeeze in beside beside the bed.
Space was just 400 mm between the bed and wall on each side and 600 mm space at the bed foot.
No where to set down a bag except on the bed or closed and wedged into walk way from the door to the bed
Smallest bathroom and shower in history.
We were pissed off big time.
You knew we were two, but the room was just totally unacceptable. Jam packed in , no space, not one adequate shelf in the bathroom or bedroom.
No cabinet to put anything on. Frankly it was a disgrace.
The Dining room was fine, pleasant and the food and service good. Breakfast was fine.
But, to cap off, the 150 + decibel FIRE ALARM went off at 6.05 AM in the ceiling right over our heads. Someone smoking apparently.
But to conclude, we did not enjoy the stay at all and felt sadly let down. When we complained in the morning at the check out we were advised that room, No. 20 was generally only used for single people, truck drivers and the like.
We are 74 and 81 retirees.
I asked for something with a view. I accept that was not possible but this relocation was nothing short of insulting.
I have stayed at the Lakefront before twice and have recommended it to overseas guests on one occasion.
I really do consider either You or the Hotel owe us.
You have to do better!!!
