Terrible staff and extremely difficult check in
Room conditions were nice and on par with expectations. However the staff were terrible, unprofessional, and not helpful at all. I had a problem with check-in because my room booking was under my shortened name instead of my full lengthy legal name as per my ID. Staff refused to check-in and claimed that as per company policy, the names must match legal names, and I quote from the staff: "the names must match like airline travels". Wtf... I've stayed at hundreds of hotels from all over the world and not a single one ever caused a fuss with this issue. The staff refused to acknowledge my booking confirmation email with all the details presented to them. Furthermore the staff refused me to escalate the absurd issue to their manager. I ended up having to seek help from hotels.com staff over the phone to assist with the total bs paperwork of name change to room booking. After wasting 40 minutes messing around with the terrible staff and their unorthodox, archaic processes, I finally managed to check in. To top it off, the clowns wrote my wrong name in the check in slip despite all the fuss about the importance of matching names "like an airline ticket". If I didn't make the booking via hotels.com, I'd have most likely lost my prepaid booking fees because room changes can't be done on the spot and needs to go through online booking platform. Stay away from these clowns. Seriously not worth the headache dealing with this incompetent bunch who treat customers like absolute dirt.

Everything went wrong, from check in till check ou
My experience here has been awful from beginning to check out. This was mainly due to issues with staff. They staff at reception works by the book without having knowledge of customer service, accomodate guest’s requests because they care. They simply don’t care. As a guest I felt completely pushed away all the time I had to deal with them. So I am not motivated to return as a client or suggest to stay in this hotel to family, friends and clients. I have also warned one of them, that the result of having a client complaining and not being happy costs to the hotel much more money than giving out a voucher for a better internet connection or allow the guest to check out one hour later free of charge. But nothing changed in their attitude, they simply don’t care. And the worst thing is they introduce themselves as duty manager, giving a really bad image of the hotel. As a customer you don’t want to feel as a number. Plus I explained her that each guests have different needs, some may need to check out early due to work or early flight, some may need to stay a bit longer. But again she was very firm in her position showing a completely lack of flexibility, just offering a complimentary late check out of only half an hour, not even a hour like in all other hotels worldwide. So I am not happy about my stay here and I wouldn’t suggest to stay at this hotel as there are many probably better other options just next door.

Inner city close to Train and Tram.
CONS: Alot of noise can be heard within the room. Felt like a window was open as that's how loud it was or the walls were thin enough you could hear the next room. Poor bathroom design, 10mm gap between shower door and wall allowed water to enter bathroom area, along the top of the tiles, even if bath matt was down. Back light behind mirror must have had loose wire as it required a wiggle to operate and even then it didn't stay on for long. $25/day for parking at secure parking not within the hotels area gave the break away budget a bit of a dint. Biggest disappointment was the strong smell of cigarettes as you walked out of either your room or as you exited the lift. Extremely disappointing to see wall ashtrays located on our floor. Thought motels were required to be smoke free zones??? PROS: Water pressure in shower was great. Location was great, within the free tram zone which saved the feet and we saw more of the city than originally planned. Dinner meal in restaurant was fantastic, great size. Breakfast buffet options the same as 99% of other stays but pastries were alot smaller. Staff were great to deal with. Could have a chat with them and they were very helpful.

The hotel is in a great position, as we traveled by train from Sydney. On arrival my companion was upset that our room did not have a window, she is claustrophobic and declared that she could not sleep in this room! When booking this hotel it didn't occur to me to request a window. The staff on duty had a mixed reaction to our dilemma,with one particular man finally placing us in a standard queen room ( we had booked a twin room but none available with a window). Unfortunately I have neglected to record this man's name but it was Ramen ( or something similar). The one person who had no interest in helping us (in fact was quite angry) was Jonathon,who I feel does not belong in customer service.Our arrival time was between 6.30 and 7.00 pm on Wednesday 3rd July.

The bathroom sink was placed below a glass shelf not allowing room to wash and clean teeth. The exhaust fan needs to be renewed - was very loud. The bearings had had their day. Furniture could do with a revarnish. TV remote was at times difficult to operate The carpet had a few stains. Reception wanted to charge for a movie which I didn't want - The charge was reversed however it appears that the system charged a particular movie to my room. Maybe it was a result to the faulty remote as I difficulty moving around the various menu selections. I do remember looking at the movie selections but had no desire or intention to purchase. They told me that I would have had to select the movie and then confirm and the record showed that I watched it for an hour. As I wrote above, the charge was reversed but the suspicion was on me
