Good
the good: Location, Location, Location the Bad: we arrived at the front entrance the two doormen were more concerned about there conversation then coming to the car after we got out they decided to let me know that Valet was in the back. Next the check in the lady was nice however when we asked for a roll away bed for our daughter they said ok but then informed us that there was a $30 USD charge for the bed(I've been to many hotels and never had an extra charge for this) not only did they charge for this it was a good thing it was for my 4 year old daughter because anyone heavier would have fallen through the bed. they next informed me that internet was included with the room........ but there was a $17 USD facility fee so not so included after all. it's not that you charged the facility fee its more that you were trying to take credit for a perk (free WIFI) but really charging for it under a different name. We have stayed here 2 other times and did not have these issues but this will be the last time that we stay there the feeling of being nickel-and-dimed leaves a bad taste.

Poor
Underwhelming, poor service
There are many new hotels in Boston, but on a recent business trip I decided on the Park Plaza, as I had good experiences before. I reached out via email before my stay and requested a room near the elevators as I was working and had to get heavy equipment in and out each day. I had been on the road for work for a few days before my stay and had a piece of equipment break, and needed to ship a replacement to the hotel. I emailed to make sure they could receive it and they confirmed they could. Upon checking in, I discovered my room was as far away as possible from the elevator. Literally, the furthest room away. When I went to get the package, they couldn't find it, insisted it hadn't been delivered, and when they eventually DID find it they offered to 'waive the delivery fee"-- yes, this hotel was going to charge a delivery fee to pick up a package at their internal FedEx and bring it to my room myself. I travel all the time for work and had deliveries to other hotels, and never been charged a delivery fee-- and never had a hotel almost lose my package. Beyond that, I booked a "King or Queen Suite" and the bed was a double at best. The sofa was this awful pleather that was uncomfortable to sit on. The toilet in the bathroom was unbelievably cramped, as was the sink area. Very claustrophobic for a suite. Such an underwhelming experience. This will be my last stay. Much better hotels in Boston.

Poor
Horrible customer service - Cheap tricks
We arrived late at night, handed our cars to the Valet. They gave us a ticket and only thing they said us that if we need anything from the car we have to give the ticket number. None has told us about any valet fees or anything. We checked-in. The walls of the hotel are very thin and it was very loud. The heater did not work but since it was too late we did not want to deal with anything. We checked out next morning and picked up our cars. Next day I saw a $%1 charge in my credit card and when I called they said it was for the valet service. I told the person I spoke with (who obviously knows nothing about handling calls) was more frustrated than I am and just transferred me to someone from valet service. The person from the valet service was only telling me that the information was on the ticket I was handed and was not trying to help as well. Their trick is "do not tell anything to clients, since no one reads these tickets, stuck them with any fee you want". 1 star service for high price. I would not recommend this place to anyone!

Good
Mis-Information
I stayed at the Park Plaza on many occasions when I'm in Boston my last experience was unpleasant. I checked in on 6/15 to attend my Godmothers 90th Birthday. The plan was to check out the following day. Rather than rushing to leave I placed a call to the front desk and requested that I stay another day. The person I spoke with (whom I should have gotten their name) said it wouldn't be a problem and it would be $50.00 for an extras day. I replied, "Not a Problem". I get back to the room after the Birthday party and realized my key didn't work. I went to the front desk (they were very professional) and was told that there wasn't notes stating that the extra day was extended, they never received the information, they were full, and I was escorted to my room by security (who was very accommodating) to retrieves my belongings. I would not have had any problem being charged for the full price of the hotel room although I was told a lower rate. The issue I had is that I was told the extended day was possible to later arrive to find out that it wasn't the case. It was pretty much my word against the Hotel's word and obviously my story was suspect because whomever I spoke either didn't relay the message or the wrong information was given to me. It was humiliating. Fortunately, I was able to book a hotel at the Omni Parker House and was able to leave the next day. Although it's my word against the Hotel's word I felt a need to share my experience with other travelers.

Good
First I have to say this hotel is the cleanest hotel I've seen. Really really clean. The housekeeping and room service staff were very friendly, and accommodating. They just knew what I needed before I knew. The hotel bar was busy every night. It had a nice chill and friendly vibe. I think that had to do with the bar staff. They were great. The night I was at the bar, I witnessed two separate couples leave to go to the steak house next door for dinner and came back to the hotel bar because they preferred the service and atmosphere better. What would have made my stay at the hotel perfect would have been the if Front Desk staff could give correct information. When I checked in it was a very cold night. I planned to valet my car as the email confirmation suggested. I spoke with the front door man. He suggested to park at the nearby lot because the valet is only until 2 pm. I parked the car and froze walking a block to the hotel through a wind tunnel only to get lost in the hotel trying to find the front desk. I mentioned to the massholeish front desk person who responded, it isn't that cold. I asked the difference between parking at the garage and parking with the valet. He said the valet is until 2 pm. I was told I would have to leave at 2, park the car on the street for a few hours then go back & valet again. The next day I asked another FD person about the valet he said the same about leaving & returning. It isn't a major issue but it sucked walking in cold.
