    Unscrupulous charges

Park Plaza Hotel - they are sneaky and overbill guests. I was with a group of 28 people and a number of us had overcharge issues. Mine was: there was supposed to be a $22 credit for Food and Beverage. When I checked in, I asked about it and the desk clerk said it would be on my account. When I ordered my food at the restaurant, I told the server about it and she said it would be on my account. When I got my receipt at the front desk and it wasn’t on my bill, the new desk clerk gave me a hard time, saying it was only good for soft drinks. I pointed out it said FOOD and Beverage and she continued to give me a hard time. She eventually asked the manager who said it would be deducted from my bill. I just looked at my credit card statement and it’s not on there. Others in our group were charged for internet when it was supposed to be included. On top of this, the refrigerator did not work. The rooms are small, especially the minuscule bathrooms.

    Destination fee

The sole reason for the terrible score was the $25+tax destination fee. The hotel didn’t hide the ball, but it was not all that obvious either. For example, when you do a search, you want to compare apples to apples without reading the fine print. To some degree, the included breakfast was the same process. There were two rates. The more expensive had the included breakfast. I find this way of doing business distasteful and recommend all of us in the Hotels.Com community punish wrongdoers. When you compare the hotel with others, add $50-$75 per day. Okay, now for the hotel. The location is near the Commons. It is a 30 minute walk to the Italian North End and 15 minutes from Chinatown. It was well run and the staff was good. The breakfast buffet was good, though it never changes. I had a superior room. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom (as others comment) was tight.

Perfect hotel in the heart of Boston

Really nice hotel. Front desk was very friendly and accommodating. Ate at the lobby bar for dinner-food was great, especially the wings. Stayed here for a Red Sox. Nice 25 minute walk to the park.

    Labor weekend

Conveniently located, within walking distance of Common, Pond, shopping. Room was very small for me, my husband and our 2 girls. Bathroom super tiny. We found a large cockroach one morning, we killed it and moved on. People were wearing masks inside the elevator and premises, but the bar and restaurant were absolutely packed every night, so if you’re looking to keep your distance, don’t stay here. It was over labor weekend and at least one wedding was being held, so, might be different at another time.

    Overcharged and Underwhelmed.

We stayed for two nights in Boston, while attending some Red Sox games. The hotel is very clean, and in a good location, but our experience was less than enjoyable. The shower in our room had a loose handle, and the “sweet spot” for water made it either boiling hot, or cold. The beds were probably the smallest “full” size beds I’ve ever seen. At checkout, they did not disclose any additional room charges, however, after looking back at my emailed receipt, I discovered I’d been charged for drinks at the bar, which we never got. We hadn’t even gone to the bar. Upon calling to inquire about the charges, I was transferred around to different departments, and not contacted again. VERY DISSATISFIED.

    Beautiful friendly and comfortable

Very welcoming staff, delicious breakfast, room is clean - but bathroom is a bit small. I asked for a lower floor - originally given 10 but switched to 5. In hindsight, should have taken higher floor. It was noisy on the lower level - outdoor noise from trucks and sirens and music. And stairwells (in case you don’t like elevators) were really old and scary Lol so we didnt use them. The lobby is absolutely gorgeous!! This was a short two night stay but we are coming back to stay a weekend in October.

Service was prompt and courteous. Having the restaurant in-house made it convenient to plan our day although a little pricey.
