Our stay was alright. We didn’t get the type of room that we had paid for. When we tried to remedy this, the reception desk staff were very young, inexperienced and did not tell us the truth. Also the road noise was very loud, even all night long. It may have been due to the room they gave us. I booked in July 2022 and asked for a king bed, which I confirmed with the hotel in November again. Our room had 2 smaller beds. Reception staff told us that a king was not available for us. We spoke with other guests who had just recently booked, and they were given a king room of the same category as ours. We also found out that we had no nearby beach access, or beach chairs.

Disappointing service & policies this time
I’ve stayed here several times and generally love it. The price point is great, the rooftop pool is fantastic with amazing views and vibes, the rooms are big and comfortable with excellent shower and cold a/c, and the hotel is modern, clean, well maintained. Unfortunately the policies were a huge let down. As a gold member, I expect to receive better service. Reserved the top tier room with ocean view and requested a king bed a month ahead of time and reminded them a day prior to arrival. I received a room with two small beds and when I requested a change, I was moved to a king room but with a view of the buildings on the opposite side of ocean view rooms. You HAVE to be able to guarantee your customers the room they reserve especially when booked way ahead of their travel date. Additionally, one of the big perks of gold status is a considerate check out. Staff refused a checkout beyond 1230 even though their check in times are late in the day. A 1/1:30 check out would still allow ample time to clean a room before the check in time for the next guest. If a hotel can’t provide the perks it’s supposed to as a vip property, hotels.com should not label it as a vip selection.

Great rooftop bar and pool overlooking the bay. Central location from airport to Malecon. Shopping mall 2 blocks away. We enjoyed the cleanliness and blended drinks at bar. Food is meh.

Beautiful pool and view, lousy on details
Check-in people were super friendly and the pool and view were fabulous. But we paid $35US per person per day for the third and fourth person in the room (2 Q beds) and they didn't even give us a fourth towel for this money! For six days, for four people, they gave us 3 bath towels, 0-1 hand towels, 0-1 foot towels, and 0-1 washrags. Sometimes we ran out of hot water. The shower faces the room and there isn't enough texturing on the glass, so everyone can see the breasts of a tall woman while she's showering (I'm tall), and in any case, to open the door to get a towel and clothes, everyone can see you. They have a keycard for the elevators and it almost never worked well. Sometimes we missed our floor trying to get it to work. They would forget to place our food orders at the pool and it would take hours and asking multiple times. Worst, the door to the bathroom did not close!!!

I loved the adults only vibes so there were no screaming children in the pool. The hotel has a watered down Kimpton feeling if you're familiar with that hotel brand. The pool area is really cool and the highlight of the hotel. Also the breakfast area has outdoor seating and has a real open Airy feeling. The check-in was pretty easy and welcoming although I was disappointed that I was not able to have a 12:30 check out. They give everyone an extended time of 12:00 p.m. if needed, but I wish that they would have allowed me that extra 30 minutes due to scheduling conflicts. The hotel is in a very busy part of town on an extremely busy road, so the sound of traffic is very noticeable even with the doors closed. You can also hear people in the hallways talking to one another. I used an app on my phone for white noise to help drown it out which did help. My biggest drawback to the hotel was the noise level... and the best part of the hotel was the pool area with the view. We ate next door at a restaurant called La Leche. Very cool Decor that's almost all white, but the food seemed to opt more for presentation over taste so not sure that I would recommend it unless you're in a real bind because there's lots of other cuter restaurants in town.
