Very disappointing...
I selected this hotel because I was looking for something with personality. Unfortunately, it was a bad choice. The rooms are not soundproof properly ( a lot of noise from other rooms), also the window let in a cold draft that I had to leave the air con on 25 degrees to compensate. The bathroom was extremely old. Corridors and carpet also old and screaming for an update (it is true that the hotel is under renovation, so maybe in a year or two this will change). Another upsetting fact that I didn't know when I booked is that the building houses not just the hotel. Below the 19th floor you can find offices, student dorms, etc... so from time to time you will see weird people in the lifts, or students wearing pjs around. The only thing that made the stay bearable was the friendly staff and location.

Great staff person
The location is excellent. The rooms are extremely small but nice and clean. The elevators are a disaster. The staff is great especially the employee who got a service elevator for us to use. I wish I had gotten his name. He was excellent!

Read mixed reviews so had low expectations and came away very satisfied with our stay. Positives: EXCELLENT location, within easy walking to Broadway shows and Westminster Dog Show activities, including free shuttle to Pier 94..added bonus was having lots of show dogs as guests in hotel, fun to sit in lobby and doggie watch:) Beds very comfortable altho rooms small and outdated. Big Negative: Elevators slow, long wait/often full..had to resort to stairs and service elevator when trying to get out to make flight..hotel management aware/upgrade planned soon. Overall, a great place to stay

Cozy
We stayed for one night, and it was the smallest room we have ever stayed in. But for the age of the hotel, it was very clean and the staff was very nice and helpful. I love how old the hotel is, it was like I was walking into the 1930's. By far the coolest hotel we have stayed at.

Disappointed
We found out the shower did not work the next morning. Completely frustrating. They offered us another room but what a pain to pack-up, wait for the elevator, get in line to get new key, wait for the elevator to go back up, then get to your new room. How did housekeeping not realize the shower didn't work? Did they not clean the tub?? Also, what's with the fee for holding luggage? This is the only hotel that has ever asked me to pay for storing my luggage for a couple of hours. I have traveled for work for over 20 years. Unacceptable!!
