Very well appointed house.
The house has a lot of Florida charm in the decoration. The amenities in the house such as the washing machine are good. The area is very nice, but it is quiet and about a hour's drive from Key West and the same from Key Largo. We stayed with frinds after an hectic cruise, therefore the quiet pool and patio area and being able to cook were very welcomed.

Lovely but no pool
We rented this because it says it has a private pool. What it doesn't say is that you are not expected to use it. I would have rented elsewhere for the price if I had known. When we arrived it was full of vegetation and cloudy. I called to try and get the filter/jets turned on, and was informed that the owners had turned it off because they did not want it to be used. The property was nice otherwise. Ground floor bedroom was great for elderly parents (and it is good we did not have small kids because there are a lot of decorations). All of the staff was wonderful.

great location and charm in serious need of TLC and cleaning
First of all, this is a 2 story, 3 bedroom, 3 bath townhome with good amount of space. The ad says it sleeps 8..(1 king size bed, and 3 queen size beds, with 2 of the 3 queen size beds being in the same bedroom.) This is a very nice townhome, with lots of charm and a beautiful location with great sunset views. The pool is nice too. No real beach though even though the unit is waterfront. The main hotel (Hawks Cay) offers beach access but not for this unit. There is a beautiful beach about 15 minutes east (Sombrero Beach). However, perhaps this isn't the owner's fault, but the cleaning crew is pathetic. The luxurious towels and amenities claimed in the description ended up being towels so old they looked more grey than white. All the utensils, dishes and pans and pots were dirty and beyond their useable life (if we could add pictures we would). The dishwasher and the fridge smell like rotten fish. The screen door fell off by merely touching it, the shower heads were all old and calcified, the doorknobs were all lose and some of the towel holders in the bathroom were barely hanging on. The whole place was just simply dirty and not what what we expected for a substantial figure per night. Including fees and taxes the 2 night/3 day stay cost us a pretty penny and for the money, one could get a true luxury resort. Again, the location is beautiful and the townhome has true Florida Keys charm, but it just isn't cleaned and taken care of properly. Nonetheless, we made nice memories for our family, we were just disappointed the money spent for 2 nights was wasted on a dirty rental. We would not rent this again.
