We absolutely loved this hotel! So much character in a great historic building. The bed was very comfortable, and everything was clean. Continental breakfast is served right on each floor every morning, and customer service was wonderful; they will even securely hold luggage for patrons as a courtesy for many hours after check-out, if requested.
The only downsides are that there is only one elevator, so sometimes there can be a slight wait. But since the hotel is also only seven stories high, taking the stairs for many people can also be an option. Also, the bathroom was surprisingly small, but with a private adjacent dressing room it wasn’t a problem for us at all.
We stayed on the seventh floor, in room #703. We had a bay window… in fact, three windows. So much natural light, and a great view! (Facing Post Street) Also, very conveniently close to so much public transportation: cable cars and such. There’s even a rental car agency right across the street! It’s a very walkable area.
The Italian-themed bar and restaurant on the first floor of the hotel was great, too. And as hotel guests, we were offered a courtesy glass of wine at “happy hour” every evening. :)
We had a wonderful stay. So many lovely memories were made! Comfortable, clean, convenient. I’m always nervous to give a good review because then demand may go up and likewise, price! But they deserve it.
I highly recommend The Andrews Hotel, and I really hope we can stay there again someday! :)
