Charming Older Hotel —Great Value
Staff were very courteous and helpful. The hotel is older, but that gives it charm. Bedroom was cozy, bed comfortable, TV worked perfectly. One of the lights next to the bed did not work at all—switch broken off completely. But there were lots of easily accessible plugs for electronics. Restaurant FINO within the hotel was excellent, and the hotel gives you a free glass of wine there.

The BEST Hotel!
We absolutely loved this hotel! So much character in a great historic building. The bed was very comfortable, and everything was clean. Continental breakfast is served right on each floor every morning, and customer service was wonderful; they will even securely hold luggage for patrons as a courtesy for many hours after check-out, if requested. The only downsides are that there is only one elevator, so sometimes there can be a slight wait. But since the hotel is also only seven stories high, taking the stairs for many people can also be an option. Also, the bathroom was surprisingly small, but with a private adjacent dressing room it wasn’t a problem for us at all. We stayed on the seventh floor, in room #703. We had a bay window… in fact, three windows. So much natural light, and a great view! (Facing Post Street) Also, very conveniently close to so much public transportation: cable cars and such. There’s even a rental car agency right across the street! It’s a very walkable area. The Italian-themed bar and restaurant on the first floor of the hotel was great, too. And as hotel guests, we were offered a courtesy glass of wine at “happy hour” every evening. :) We had a wonderful stay. So many lovely memories were made! Comfortable, clean, convenient. I’m always nervous to give a good review because then demand may go up and likewise, price! But they deserve it. I highly recommend The Andrews Hotel, and I really hope we can stay there again someday! :)

Keep looking
If you are looking for: - A toilet that will make even the sane feel claustrophobic, with head in sink and feet akimbo into the room next to you. Other reviews cited "super tiny bathroom" and it's true - A place where you have no need for an alarm clock! The rooms around you are so close the guests exiting the rooms automatically wakes you up - A floor so closely set together you can also smell your neighbor's cologne, and think, gosh, is someone in my room at 8a? - Without AC, so the only option is an open window, which in this neighborhood is an invitation to Mexican cha-cha bands and homeless fights until the wee hours of the night. On the plus side, it is 10' from Union Square and 20' from Muscone Center. But I have to say, the size of the rooms is dehumanizing. This hotel should not be on major OTA platforms such as hosted by Expedia Group or on hotels.com until a major overhaul.

The location is perfect! The service was fabulous! The room is dated and the bathroom and shower are minuscule but the bed was super comfortable! The croissants, muffins and coffee in the morning were a nice touch!

Too warm.
Would have been a great stay, but the room was HOT. The heating seemed to be pinned on one temperature setting which was too warm. To cool down the room, we had to open the window and the street noise kept us awak.

Great Front-Service Staff
The front-service staff were absolutely amazing and they were very helpful and accommodating helping me stay an extra two hours past the check-out time with no extra charge. The hotel is in a great location and there are so many restaurants and bars near the restaurant it is amazing. They also have a breakfast, which I did not eat since I do not eat so early in the morning. It is an older hotel, but you really cannot beat the price or the location.
