Very good 8.0
Renovations ongoing, clean but not a full service
Bit of confusion upon check in. We booked 3 seperate rooms with river views but the reception manager refused to believe me until we provided her with screenshots from the original booking. She was rude but another female staff member was more hospitable and gave us our rooms as booked. The pools are closed and some of my friends wanted to swim. It wasn't until the last day that another customer told us in the lift that we could use the pool facilities at the Rialto, so that was disappointing we were not notifed of this alternative upon check in. The rooms were clean and evenly spaced but still a lot of renovations continuing. The atmosphere was not the same level as our last visit sadly

Very good 8.0
Central for what we needed. Room was roomier than expected, as was the bathroom. Bed and pillows were comfortable. We are members of the hotel group and always receive free internet but on this occasion, they didn’t realise, so we had no access. It was late at night when we realised and so couldn’t be bothered chasing it up. We grabbed a meal in the bar/restaurant prior to going to a concert, which is why we stayed at the hotel. The food was great but told staff we couldn’t wait too long and were told meals would be 15-20 mins and they were just over half an hour. This made us later than we wanted, which meant eating far too quickly and having to rush off, instead of being able to relax and digest our food. Upon returning to our room later, we decided we’d put in an order fo breakfast. The card had to be left out before midnight. We put it out at 11.15pm. Our breakfast did not arrive and we had to chase it up. When it did eventually was delivered, it wasn’t presented very well and some items were missing. It was near to checkout time, so we didn’t worry about complaining but thought we’d mention at checkout. As it turned out, there was a queue, so we used the ‘express checkout’ option. We were pleased to get notification shortly after checkout, that only one breakfast was charged and to know that the hotel obviously realised our experience had been marred and charged us accordingly. We were very happy with the outcome and would most definitely stay again.

Lost its gloss
I had the pleasure staying in this hotel over 10 years ago and it was an absolute pleasure. With this in mind I booked my latest stay without hesitation. Ohhhh dear, what a disappointment. The counter and concierge staff were excellent but instantly I notice that the Hotel was looking below par. Unfortunately making our way to our room, noticing worn carpet and faded paint it was confirmed that it seemed the place hadn't had much money spent on it for years. Our room was tidy but extra hair in the bed and bathroom wasn't a welcome start. It looked like the maid had done her hair in the bathroom and taken a nap on the bed. We arrived late so ordered room service. We ordered 2 meals and it only arrived with one set of cutlery and a lipstick stained napkin, we promptly asked for another set but 35 mins later we had eaten our meals separately with the one set before we got a knock on the door with just an extra napkin...still no cutlery. The bathroom still looked out of the ninety's with shower over bath and poor water pressure...fine for a family with a little toddler to wash, but with most tourist getting older I think your next renovation should include walk in showers without the hurdle challenge over the bath. I really was looking forward to this stay and paid a little extra than other competitors for the memories of 10 years ago.....I guess I got more that 10 years of wear and tear and badly trained service staff with the deal.

Exceptional 10.0
Very friendly staff. Room upgrades to a good standard. Beds and pillows very comfortable. Breakfast selection very good. We decided to eat in the hotel restaurant on Saturday night to avoid hustle and bustle of city and were not disappointed. Great food and service and no more expensive than city restaurants.

Very good 8.0
Hotel location and staff were awesome. Unfortunately they had major renovations going on which were noisy and distracting. When I booked thru nothing was said about the major renovations. Also the taxes and fees added to cost of the room was ridiculous, my fault for not seeing that before I booked the room. Very little chance I will use again.
