Crappy pool hours and the tv didnt work!
We chose this hotel because it had a pool and we figured that was a great option when traveling in the heat of july with kids. Unfortunately, even though we stayed for 3 days we only were able to make it to the pool 1 time because of the crazy pool hours! Our first day, we checked in at 3:30 and the pool closed at 6.... so we missed it. The second day we figured we would hit the pool early, but if course the pool hours were different and we missed it. We did finally get to go to the pool bit it was so crowded and loud that we couldnt enjoy it. Our tv didnt work for our entire stay which was also a bummer. We tried to have it fixed, but the maintenance man had no clue what to do so we spent our entire stay without tv(which with kids was not fun). Also, the air conditioning only worked when it wanted to so our room was quite warm for most of our stay. Again, we told Maintenece but they did nothing. Also, Housekeeping entered our room every morning while we were still in bed which was also super frustrating and a lil nervewracking to wake up to a stranger in your room even if they worked there. Overall, It was close enough to everything that we were able to enjoy the city, but For the price I dont think I would stay here again.

Poor 2.0
We prepaid through Expedia and after checking out the hotel charges my card on file for a full night stay at $256 and then an additional charge of $75. After over a year of saving for this trip to take my daughters to NY for a combined birthdays, Christmas and graduation gift added to the fact that Christmas is next week these duplicate and fraudulent charges left us in NY with no funds to complete our plans for the day and an Uber to the airport. I became so upset we ended up lost in the Bronx and due to the rain, by the time we got back to hotel we were soaked. My husband was calling the bank and hotel for me. He had gotten them to agree to give me the cash back because the refund would be 1-2 business days at best. When we returned at the hotel we were met with a front desk employee John who wouldn’t look me in the eyes and barely spoke. He told me I had to wait on the general manager. At this point we were running out of time to catch our flight. I was crying and my girls were scared. The manager arrives maybe 15 minutes later and she is so rude. No one ever apologized and she acted like she was doing me a favor. I was mad, and crying and yes I said the F word plenty of times. She was so ugly to me and not even responding or reacting to my fear of now missing a plan with NO money. She told me that she didn’t have to help me and was not going to if I remained “abusive”. At this point my 19 year old daughter, who I’ve never seen this upset starting asking her why she was

When we arrived, there was a computer glitch so they were rerouting people to other places. I understand that these things happen, but the staff were not being apologetic about this. Furthermore, the hotel they were trying to reroute us to had fewer amenities. They said we could still park next door and come back and use the pool, but we obviously didn’t want to go back and forth. Additionally, at nearly 8 months pregnant, I did not like this situation. They eventually got us a room in the hotel, but it took a very long time to check in (maybe an hour). When we finally got to the room, we learned that only the bathroom light worked. Again, the staff was not helpful- they gave a perfunctory apology that didn’t seem sincere. Overall, I was not impressed and the staff were not willing to help make the situation better at all.

A sweet oasis in Midtown Manhattan
What a great find! Small, non-chain, cozy hotel just far enough outside the gravitational pull of Times Square but convenient to the theaters, Avenues, and Central Park. It has a great indoor pool on the top (9th) floor with a nice view, pretty colored tiles and an attendant on duty. The pool's closed midday during the week but that's when we were out sightseeing anyway. There are free refrigerators in the room and cheap wifi ($3/day per device, but we all used it and only got charged $6 in five days). There's free wifi in the lobby and a lot of people were hanging out using it, making for a comfy living room feel. Decor is wood paneling, sconce lighting, Art Deco prints, and floral carpets, making for a warm, elegant, early to mid-20th century feel. If you like sleek modern chrome and glass, this is not for you. Rooms are simple but clean and spacious enough for our family of four (kids aged 10 & 12). Our room was surprisingly quiet given the busy city just outside maybe because we were in the back wing. I usually like in-hotel free breakfast for the convenience, but in NY, every second storefront is a restaurant or market, so it wasn't an issue. Staff were pleasant and the concierge was helpful. The bellhop Tenzin always seemed to be smiling. I will definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again. Cons: not enough outlets so we had to unplug the clock to plug in electronic devices; also no coffee maker which is fine with me but may be a deal-breaker for others.

Execllent service, reasonable price for midtown
I heartily recommend this hotel. The service was wonderful, shortly after checking-in, my daughter was unable to find her phone. The staff was very helpful, even going so far as to check the security video to help us track it down (we found it!). Location on 10th avenue is 3 (long) blocks from Times Square, which gets you out of the bright lights and noise but still within a 10 minute walk of theaters. Room was comfortable. Some places to eat on 10th Ave, but you'll find tons more on 9th and 8th. One tip - the hotel is actually two buildings connected on the 1st & 2nd floor. If you have a room on the 3rd or above, make sure you are using the correct elevator. Would definitely stay here again.
