Definitely an older hotel, not much to do inside, but it was convenient, gym was well taken care of and maintained. Certain locations had weird smells, (walking towards the pool was weird) but for the most part, it was quiet and comfortable. We did have to ask for our room to be recleaned because the bathroom floor had dirt and hair but they were accommodating and gave us free buffet vouchers for the inconvenience. New self check in process was confusing could’ve had a little more directions or staff.

the hotel is old and outdated. Dirty chairs in our room. 3 pools and kids allowed in all of them. I have a large fraud charge on my credit card that the manager tells me it not from them. The charge states Excalibur Front desk. Front desk was helpful when our room keys stopped working twice.

If you do stay here, stay in the Resort Tower instead of the Royal Tower. The Resort Tower rooms have been renovated. I'd say "Newly Renovated" is a stretch because the room still felt extremely dated. I heard they took old furniture from a different MGM property. Our room faced New York-New York, and the curtains had a big gap at the top, so it didn't get completely dark at night. The location is great, and the hotel features $3 margaritas. I wish they cared a little more about the property and took better care of the rooms. If you're trying to save money, this is an okay place to stay, but don't expect anything "fancy" for your Vegas experience.

The staff was helpful, especially for complicated check-in, the room mediocre. Bathroom felt like it hadn’t been cleaned well and there was debris still there from previous visitors (empty water bottle and unrolled toilet paper under the open vanity) the faucet handles were loose with no stops and the shower handle so loose I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to shut off the water. The A/C was running but not cooling. The elevators felt unstable/wobbly and noisy. Odors of marijuana here and there on the property. There was adequate security throughout the property. Only ate dinner at one of the restaurants. The steak was delicious but the sides were like 2-day old buffet fare, mushy and highly salted. Although the bed was comfortable, I won’t be staying there again. Kind of sad for an MGM property.

Overall, not a bad experience, but the self check in needs alot of work. Having a person stand there trying to help 20 plus people at one time, when they tell the machines should work and they don't. Finally like the last three times I just wait in the line to get personal help. I feel the one person helping is only to make it look good. Every time I'm there which is 3-4 times a year, there's at least two groups of people who openly say they're never staying there again. I just laugh because it's the same hotel it's always been only you get frustrated with the kiosk , instead of a clerk because before you waited a line, a half an hour or more. I truly believe that they went slow on purpose so that the "new" kiosks would look better, and look more updated, it doesn't. Cheap rates are all that get you by. The staff is nice though. Seems like Nevada has listened up underage kidsbeing able to run throughout the gaming area, reminds me of Circus Circus, and I need not explain that to anyone visiting vegas in the last five years. I don't gamble much at Excalibur though because of the kids, so I'm not the person to talk about how's the gaming area besides the kids. There's times it reminds me of Chucky Cheeses and if you think I'm exaggerating, look at the hundreds of cameras.
