6/10 Good
10 May 2023
Tired. Good. Overpriced. Needs work.
We like this property overall, and the initial impression on arrival is very pleasant indeed.
In this stay, though, there were quite a lot of BUTs.
In dealing with all the problems I brought to her, Chloe was on the front desk was excellent to deal with, utterly pleasant and polite and got things done. Lena too was helpful in the 2x my partner dealt with her.
Some of the issues with the hotel were:
Housekeeping. Why not deliver facecloths consistently? A pain. Needed to make a phone call. They need to follow a checklist.
Rubber seal on bottom of shower door old and dirty.
Construction deterioration on outside of left wing.
Mould inside upper two levels of left wing.
Messy rooftops and ground area visible from level three of right wing.
My massage was great but my partner’s was a total disappointment at any price especially $NZ250/75min. At that price you expect the moon, not someone virtually waiving their hands over you. She walked out part way.
Prices. NZ$500 per night. The quality and condition needs to be much higher for this.
Massage. All options extremely expensive
Food & beverage. All very expensive. That’s partly a New Caledonia thing and partly this hotel. $45 for a burger and fries?!!! WHAT!!
On the plus side:
Hamam, very nice. ($45 though, should be included, when rooms $500 a night).

Pool, bar, restaurant were all very pleasing, and the number one benefit of this property. I loved the pool. Pina Coladas were good.
