Good 6.0
It is an old hotel. Location is very good. Breakfast was ok. Every day it was same menu. We stayed for 4days. In our room , if we want milk for a cup of tea you have to pay which was not a good thing. You can get tram right in front of hotel to airport.

Mixed feelings.
The hotel is beautiful and the location is fantastic. The breakfast is plentiful and the views are stunning. Unfortunately our stay was marred, when we discovered two items missing from our room; my daughter's eye mask and her favourite cuddly toy, which ironically we told her to leave in the room for safekeeping. Usually I tidy things away before the room is serviced but the room was literally pounced upon as soon as we went to breakfast. I did not leave the "do not disturb" sign I admit, but neither did I leave the "please service room" sign. It was a little awkward upon returning to the room to have someone still in there sweeping around us and cleaning the bathroom ( which we all needed) and I think it could have waited till we vacated the room for the day, which in my experience normally happens. However, the main issue was that in the rush to clean the room the items had been swept up with the bedding. The response of the hotel was helpful but more aligned with us having left the items in the lobby or misplaced. The eye mask was found in the washing but the large dog was not. This was not highly valuable and even though my daughter is gutted that her "baby" has gone I understand it is just a toy. However, it is the principle; one should be able to leave items in a hotel room and find them still there on return! I'm rather disappointed that the hotel have also not responded to my very polite email since. ☹️

Exceptional 10.0
Perfect experience; highly recommended
Our stay could not have been better. We had a beautiful, spacious room with a great view overlooking Santa Maria Novella and the Tuscan hills. The staff was incredibly helpful and courteous throughout our stay, and we had a wonderful dinner at the restaurant on the fifth floor. The view up there was just stunning. One amenity we didn't take advantage of (but wish we had) was a complimentary smart phone, which the hotel invited us to take with us throughout our stay, for GPS/phone/internet. This would be a great feature for people who don't have an international cell phone plan. We didn't use it, so we don't know how well it worked, but it seemed very impressive. Check-in and check-out could not have been smoother, and the convenient location to the train station made everything very quick and easy. The *only* negative we can think of from our trip was that, because we came in April, it was too late for heat and too early for AC, so we had to open the windows. This was great for views, but it was a tad noisy at times and invited mosquitoes into the room.

Good Choice
Good location, close to the airport and the train station and walking distance to most tourist sites. The staff was friendly and most spoke English.

Belissima!
Grand Hotel Baglioni was amazing! Old World Style with all the luxuries for your comfort which only adds to your wonderful experience of Florence! Located near the Santa Maria Novello train station and in the center of Florence makes it so easy to walk out the front door and explore!! Unfortunately my phone was stolen my first day in Florence in a cafe before we checked into Hotel Baglioni and when we arrived they gave me a cell phone to use for my entire trip free of charge. We also had a room with a beautiful view of the Duomo!! Everyone was helpful and friendly. From the reception to the bartender, Alessandro! Thank you Grand Hotel Baglioni for a wonderful experience in Italy. Would definitely come back!
