Staying at Silverton is Like Working a Job
We chose to stay at the Silverton Casino Hotel based upon our wonderful dining experience at Twin Creeks six years ago. Alas, the Creeks were closed and entrée prices doubled. The Good: Slot choices; Accurate hotel charges; Big aquarium; Johnny Rockets operated by a super likable fellow; Overall friendly and helpful workers excepting the front desk; Comfortable king bed; Large, clean room; Great TV (when available), 12 noon check out for those wishing to stay that long. The Bad: Extremely long hallway access to room; Ice cold pool and tiny hot tub; Remote single point ice dispensing which is inconvenient depending upon room location; Desk workers uninterested regarding concerns and suggestions; No hospitality provisions at front desk; not even a pitcher of water. The Ugly: No coffee in room nor morning coffee available at desk which is standard even at budget chains; No fridge; Pricey breakfast alternatives; Remote parking; Guests denied access to helpful luggage trolleys. TV unavailable on morning of departure; Recently added resort fees now cover the cost and maintenance of hot and cold running water, door locks, security, parking and in-room displays of $4 bottles of water. Recent management decisions affecting economic circumstance offer plenty reasons to leave and none to stay. Seems like a good business model.

Will not be going back!
The hotel itself wasn't too bad, but the service was not great. Had a horrible experience with their main (room-service) restaurant, The Sundance, & when I called, walked down to talk to them, & then mentioned it again for the 4th time to my check out attendant, I got the same response; we can't do anything about it. The issue was that when we ordered room service & the food finally came up 1hr & 45 minutes later when we were told it would be 45 minutes total, the food was cold & we were missing two items. I let the attendant know, & she just replied that it was busy but she would be back. She never returned, even after I called down to the front desk & told them what had happened. I went back to the restaurant the next day & told them what had happened, to which they just replied, " We were really busy." No apology, acknowledgment, or anything. I brought up the issue again at checkout, & was completely ignored and still charged the full amount of the room-service check even though we were missing items. To top everything off, housekeeping didn't clean our room the next day, until after we called them to ask them to do it. They never even bothered to clean my friend's room, even when he told them to. Additionally, they never bothered picking up the food tray from our room service order on Friday. It was still outside our door, in the hallway when we left Sunday. So, although the Mermaid bar & tank were beautiful, the Silverton has lost our business & we won't be returning.

construction was not disclosed
We checked in on Thursday and was placed on the fourth floor. At 8 AM on Friday morning it sounded like our ceiling was caving in. Come to find out that the construction was right above our room. Went down to the front desk to discuss and was told that we could move to first room floor that they had plenty of vacancies on. But that as of Saturday morning they would not be doing construction so we decided to stay in our room since we had completely unpacked and we’re already Awake and starting our day much earlier than anticipated. I just do not understand why we were placed on the fourth floor knowing that the construction, that was not disclosed to us, was happening above the fourth floor roof. Why not put us on the first floor from the beginning. People checking in on Friday could be on the fourth floor since there was no construction on the weekend. The staff could care awake and starting our day much earlier than anticipated. The staff Was not helpful and not even apologetic. They did wave are $16 resort fee for the one day. I feel the customer service here has gone down in the 20 years that we have been coming to this resort. I was very unhappy!

Good
This place is a pretty nice hotel for being off of the strip. It’s older so it’s a little worn. Our room was clean but was furnished strangely. No big deal, we were just there to sleep. We had a room on the ground floor. At first, everything was nice. Ordered room service— pretty lame food to be honest. The pizzas were alright but the “strawberry tall cake” was stale and pretty awful. The ice cream was good at least. At this point, I’d still consider staying here again. But then the upstairs guests arrived in their room and we could hear every single step they made. Then we could hear the bed when they got onto it. I don’t expect people in hotel rooms to be aware of neighbors when they aren’t in the hallway, so I wasn’t even mad at them, but I was very concerned that I could hear them in the first place. I have never had this experience at any hotel I have ever stayed at, including motels. It was so strange and I would not recommend staying here solely because of this. They also woke up super early and were very loud again. Kinda lame. This being said, almost every single person we encountered who worked here was awesome. The lady who checked us in also checked us out and was so professional and friendly. (I wanna say her name is Leona but I cannot remember.) TLDR: This place was good for the price but I didn’t get restful sleep. Would consider staying again if the price was right AND I were on the top floor.

Poor
Horrible place to stay
The checkin service was the WORSE checkin experience of my life! The lady was like as dumb as a box of rocks! You know every single time I've checked into a hotel I've been told "2 nights with a King" or whatever. Nope. This lady! I get to my room, 2 doubles! Gotta go back and move to another dang room! I get a the very last room in a hall. What happens? My key doesn't work! I call to tell her it doesn't work! She says well you gotta come back and get a new key I take that long a** walk AGAIN! The cafe food sucks and the service is HORRIBLE! Server knew absolutely NOTHING about the menu! I ask, is the ribeye bone-in or boneless? "Ummm I don't know, I have to ask".....I ask if the calamari is strips or rings, tentacles? "Im not sure, I will ask!!" What kind of management runs this awful place?! Room service! Omfg! You gotta be kidding me! Lady on the phone is also an air head! NOBODY in this ENTIRE place knows anything about what they're selling! This is the WORSE hotel EXPERIENCE of my life! I want my money back! I want every single penny! I know that will more than likely not happen, but GEEZUZ! What a waste! Lesson learned, I will never cheat on the Palms Place again to experiment with something else! Ridiculous! Oh and that $16.99 per night fee for using my pillows on my bed! Are you flipping kidding me? And a free mermaid show that anyone who is not a hotel guest could watch? The floors in the rooms were all warped and listening to my neighbor above me stomping!
