Profile: Downtown Las Vegas

Profile: Downtown Las Vegas

Downtown Las Vegas, just north of The Strip on Las Vegas Boulevard, is neon-drenched Vegas at its best. A sprinkling of motels, casinos, and kitschy wedding chapels edge the palm tree-lined Boulevard until you hit the rejuvenated Fremont Street, where night-time animation shows light up the bustling canopied walkway. Here, you can spot animated favorites like the kicking-leg cowgirl and the cigar-smoking cowboy, and grab an old-fashioned steak dinner at a classic joint.

The area is also home to the Downtown Arts District, which hosts a variety of gallery walks and tours in the city’s artistic hub.

    Nice but noisy.

Service was great, room was clean and nice. Only issues - no soft/feather pillows in the room, toilet made an awful screeching sound after flushing, and the noise from road traffic and what sounded like a helicopter landing on the roof at 4:00 am made my stay less desirable.

Nice clean but limited food options

The hotel was fine. Dining options were extremely limited after 9 pm. Had to walk to next casino (sister casino) and stand in an hour-long line there.

    Brewfest weekend

We stayed for a weekend night since we were going to be in town. The place has old school charm and not glitzy like the spots on the strip. We were in the area for the Brewfest that weekend. We will definitely come back again

    Disappointed on Main Street

The hotel just reopened, but the accommodations were less than accommodating. Pool is closed, gift shop/sundries closed, there is no room service available, and if you want coffee, you have to leave room to get it. They are calling themselves a resort and charging fee for what? Buffet was terrible. Fried chicken was dry and overcooked, maybe was old? Ribs were dry and hard. Poor quality compared to 5 years ago when we ate there.

Second time staying there. Pretty dead most of the time in the casino. Location is good if you're doing downtown Vegas. Beds are comfortable but the interior lighting in the room is terrible, especialy in the bathroom. Shower head is about 4 feet high so if your under 5 feet it's proably okay. Adjusting water temp in shower is tricky
