Only a couple issues
Overall a good place to stay, very clean, beautiful decor and mostly lovely staff! It's the most perfect location for an off the grid night away! My only negative comments are that the continental breakfast isn't replenished, we were asked what time we wanted to eat as they like to stagger breakfasts so we chose the last time slot, but when we came down we were told to "help ourselves to what is left". I was very disappointed as I'm not a fan of cooked breakfasts, I would've expected the other stuff to have been topped up after the first people had eaten it all! Also my messages sent on hotels.com prior to my visit were all not responded to, and when I called to double check breakfast was included the lady was short and rude with me stating sarcastically that yes it's a bed and breakfast! I think it would've been great to let people know that the balconies weren't in use upon booking too, as I had no idea that that would be the case and no money off is offered for the change of what's described! Apart from those few things everything else was brilliant, but make sure you choose an early slot for breakfast if you want to eat!!

Storm Damage
After the initial shock of seeing all the scaffolding in place, due to storm damage repairs, the stay was very pleasant. Unfortuately some footpaths and local roads are still closed following the storms. Staff, service, and food all very good. Suggest checking directly with the hotel regarding the current situation. .

Hunters Inn is a wonderful place to relax, take walks, or use as a general base. The wooded setting is both picturesque and calming.The food is excellent, though a little salty at times and the menu was fairly limited. The rooms are very good in a pleasant quirky way. But what sums up this place is the fantastic staff. Every member of the team are friendly, helpful, polite and have a "can't do enough for you" attitude. Highly recommended!

Great staff, poor room.
We were disappointed with family room No 9. It obviously had not been renovated to those shown & expected on the website. The bathroom particularly in poor condition. With an old bath & chipped brown panel. Every wall in the room had a crack showing across it. However on telling the accommodation staff, they were helpful & we were offered an immediate discount. We are not overfussy & stayed in dozens of NT holiday let's, but it was not up to the price we initially paid. However the room was no reflection on the staff & service. So this was a shame really. Nice food both nights & breakfasts. Staff very attentive and friendly. NT need to complete the renovation on Hunters to justify the prices they are asking at present.

Was expecting better!
Water in shower was extremely hot, and unable to adjust temperature. When the hot water ran out, there was 20 seconds to wash before it turned cold. Walls had chipped paint going up stairs, floor was buckled in bathroom, front of building was full of weeds, unkempt. I was surprised that nothing had been taken care of during the time it would have been closed.

Welcome back to a favourite venue
Having stayed here last year we were concerned how much covid19 had forced a change - the hotel had worked very hard to ensure saftey with major changes to table layout, with tables guaranteed for staying guest, continuous cleaning processes during the day, with excellent service at meal times and of course the wonderful scenery A really tremendous break after such a demanding period of isolation from friends and family Congratulations and thanks to all at Hunters Inn

Nice room, clean and comfortable. Good food and friendly staff. Not sure how I feel about allowing dogs in the dining room. Perhaps a separate area for people who wish to bring dogs with them to the table.
