Value, location, view
This review assumes you get an ocean view room. If you don't, you're missing the whole experience. We stayed in two different rooms, both had good to excellent wifi. Both were good sized, but the one with 2 double beds was full of beds. Obviously. The view balconies are fantastic. A triple sliding glass door opens up the entire room to a view of the beach, the palms, the never-ending parade on the Malecon across the street, and the sunset. Besides being on the Olas Altos prime beach strip, it's only a 10 to 15 minute walk to the historic center, including plaza mechado, the central market and the central cathedral. Numerous great restaurants are within a couple of blocks. There is no elevator, depending on your fitness, you may want a room on the second floor. No refrigerators, but there's a great little store in the same building, get a cooler and a bag of ice for about $5. And they've got 'cervecas' on ice! We stayed in January, and we got all that for $45/night. Do yourself a favor, book it! Try to get a king bed (for a couple) on the second floor. Other reviewers have complained about construction. Yes, there is construction around, but the road and beach walk (Malecon) are finished. It also appears that the room remodels are complete. Hard beds and street noise? You're in Mexico! This is not the Hilton. It's $45/night! Embrace it. And bring earplugs.😁

Hard beds. Great location.
Wifi worked only slowly and only in the lobby area. Beds were Very hard and uncomfortable.

If you have a choice, go somewhere else
The room was very dingy and the air conditioner rattled very loudly. The common area was decrepit and smelt of chemicals. The “ocean view” room also overlooked the street which had blaring music all night long - even with the windows closed and the air conditioner rattling, we could still hear the music. We ended having to change rooms because it was so loud, and the room we got had only the smallest window, however they never offered to refund us any money.

Second Time Around
Incredible location which brought me back for a second stay two years from the first trip. I had really been hoping to see improvement to wifi but was disappointed with the slow and inconsistent availability of the wifi. Unfortunately this will be my last stay because of this issue. Having said that, the overall experience was positive- friendly staff, clean room and incredible location. My only other suggestion would be to add a small bar fridge to each room. Great value.

The hotel rooms are pretty basic. Clean and comfortable. The room with the ocean view is really great. I have stayed at 3 other hotels in the Centro Historico area and this was by far y most enjoyable stay. I would recommend.
