The pictures are falsely advertised. The room they gave us for a family of 4 was so tight... when we opened the door it hit the bed. We had to walk sideways. The bathroom was super tight. When using the toilet your knees would touch the sink. To get in the shower you had to go in sideways. They gave us only two towels and wash clothes. We tried calling the front desk but got no answer. Our daughter went to the front desk and they told her to dial 0 to get the front desk. We heard the cleaning lady outside of our and we asked for washcloths and she said she didn’t have any. Then that night the cleaning lady knocked on the and before my husband could get to the door, she opened it and jumped. No apologies, nothing. There is no pool in this hotel. The pool is next door in their sister hotel. You have to walk down the side of the hotel with your room key to get an access to an elevator to take you to the fifth floor. There’s no bar at the pool. The towels had stains on them. We showed the gate keeper and he threw them in the trash.

WARNING! DOUBLE RESORT FEES WILL BE CHARGED IF THERE ARE MORE THAN 2 PEOPLE IN A ROOM. This is the main reason for my overall review rating. I work in the legal field so I ALWAYS read the fine print. I understood that a resort fee would be charged per ACCOMMODATION, NOT PER PERSON BASED ON DOUBLE OCCUPANCY. I booked this hotel through Orbitz and was given the total for the resort fee that I would have to pay at the hotel, apart from the actual booking charges - which I was fine with. I arrived to the hotel and the woman at the front desk, who was very nice, told me the resort fee was double because I had 4 people in my room. Basically, there's a resort fee for every two people per room. What was supposed to be $129.96 (21.66 resort fee per day for the 6 days we were staying) turned out to be double at $259.92. Orbitz outlined $129.96 in the total when I booked the room for 4 people. I checked for the Orbitz confirmation email to show the front desk person and she told me that they base their fees on double occupancy. I was so irritated but paid anyways because I had a long flight in from Los Angeles. After I checked in and paid, I contacted Orbitz and complained because the information I was given at the front desk, wasn't outlined anywhere in their fine print on Orbitz. The excuse the Orbitz rep gave me was that the hotel was allowed to charge fees outside of what was outlined in the Orbitz website during booking and in the confirmation emails Orbitz sent me.

Before I booked my two rooms I called the property and asked about rooms being closer together because I was traveling with family they did state their policy that they cannot promise but that they would do the best that they can at no time was I ever informed that they have two separate buildings so when I got there my rooms where in two separate buildings however my reservation had 1423 which is their address number but the other buildings address is different it’s 1425 but my reservation didn’t show me that the rooms are in two separate buildings nor was I notified when I called to ask about rooms being close that there was a chance they wouldn’t even be in the same building. Cleanliness was also an issue they were a lot of tiny ants crawling on the floor and both nightstands. We had paid more for the “penthouse suite”. The sheets had hair on them and stains etc... the nicest part was the view from our room and the drink vouchers when we checked in.

Get a receipt for the valet
As soon as we got there we parked up and there were two gentlemen talking inside the hotel holding a door each. At no point did they exit the hotel to offer assistance. I entered the building leaving my family in the car. I checked in and was given the hard sell for valet parking after paying the resort fee as it was the weekend. I decided to pay cash for the valet and again no offer of help from the staff. With two small children and a number of cases a little help would have been great. Found a trolley loaded it up myself and got it to the room. At first looked very swanky. Then on closer inspection there were stains on the walls, bathroom too small and only two towels for 4 people. There were a large number of toe nail clippings all over the floor even though cleaners were working that floor. Stayed just one night. On check out I was told that I had not paid for parking and was due to be charged again. The lady from the night before had not put it on my account. I wasn’t the only person this happened too. Had to wait for nearly 45 mins for manager to check CCTV to be told I had paid. Got resprt fee refunded and told that lady was new. I don’t believe this and am sure she is now in big trouble. Not a cheap hotel and won’t be going back. Not what you expect if Miami having stayed in various places over the years. Not good experience for me and my family delaying our onward trip and causing us to be stuck in traffic instead of the planned early start.

Exceptional 10.0
Wonderful week at President Hotel
We were a familly of 4 people, 2 adults and 2 kids during a full week : we booked a 2 Queen-Beds room with a balcony which was in the President Villa building. The room was absolutely wonderful : totaly renovated, a lot of space, beds were absolutely comfortable, and totally calm because far from Collins Avenue. About the hotel itself : clean and well maintained, equiped with a very nice roof pool, the location is absolutely amazing close to the beach, lincoln road and Ocean Drive. About the service : breakfast is quite good (could be improved with some Nutella, Honey and more fresh fruits), service is ok, room was cleaned every day. In a Nutshell, we totally recommend President Hotel and we will come back : * Before booking, give a call to the hotel in order to be sure you book a renovated and a calm room. * When we saw past testimonies with complaints about everything, the quality is more than expected for the price we have paid. If you want better breakfast, bigger pool, totally new hotel and in South beach at 200m to the beach, make another choice but you will pay twice at minimum.
