4/10 Fair

Save yourself some headache and save your money
Only good thing about this hotel is the location. Their customer service and the room itself were far from their self acclaimed "luxury" standards. Their room description states "room with city view", does not say that it's optional or anything similar on their website. When I checked in, I was given a crappy back alley view room overlooking the top of their hotel's back on the first floor. They refused to do anything about it and ended up saying that "city view" is a preference and preferences aren't guaranteed. In addition to the room being outdated and some items on the table being dirty,, I've found one of a kind bathroom doors. The bathroom door which doesn't lock from inside the bathroom, rather there's a lock on the outside. Probably one of the worst stays I've ever had. Do yourself a favor, find a nice spot elsewhere and enjoy your stay in Winnipeg.
A luxurious air vent that does not open or doesn't have a latch
Bathroom lock on the outside. That's a luxury thing

2/10 Poor

Very Disappointed
Over all very unsatisfactory. I expected better from a Fairmount property it’s hard to believe that I had an upgraded room. It was aged and shabby, there were broken grout lines in the shower/tub, the faucets were difficult to operate. The air conditioner kept Makita by a loud bang then hissing sound all night which kept us up. We were located below the gym so every evening and mornings starting around 6 am, would hear the workout equipment banging on the ceiling above us. The room door kept sticking. Our first day we tried to use the pool and hot tub. The pool water was heated which would be nice in winter but was a bit too warm sot this time of year. The hot tub was unbearably hot (other guests agreed), to their credit the maintenance team made some adjustments and it was okay there after. I used the self parking option as I usually do. The parking was located in an adjacent building which was connected by a public concourse, this meant that we had to take 2 elevators and walk through a shopping center to get you our car, or leave the building, which was actually faster. The area outside the hotel was very sketchy, we didn’t feel comfortable walking outside so we drove everywhere. The staff seem willing to be helpful however they were a bit undertrained. I have stayed in motels that were better maintained and more comfortable. If this property did not have amenities like a restaurant and room service it would 2.5 to 3 stars at best. I really expected more.

6/10 Good

Too Hot to Handle
Finding the parkade was hard as we were not given clear directions however once we found it, it was a short indoor walk to get into the hotel. The employees were professional and friendly. The air conditioning in the room does not work and it was too hot to sleep at night.
