Almost...
We came for our anniversary weekend with our dog. Walking in, it does feel like entering a Mediterranean getaway smack dab in the middle of West Hollywood. The valet gentlemen were nice, check in was uneventful, except for no prior notification that this pet friendly hotel charges a very large pet fee, and offers no pet relief area. When your dog needs to go, you get to wander back out into not so safe West Hollywood, dodging many people sleeping on the sidewalk that are obviously not well. Walking to your room, you walk past a beautiful courtyard full of tables and some couches, thinking "what a great place for coffee in the morning, or a glass of wine at night." Sadly you quickly learn seating is only for the restaurant. The loud, very busy restaurant less than two feet from your room. Forget hoping for a quiet stay. Your room is a teeny, tiny room. With no storage for luggage, and no amenities (they didn't even have hand soap for the bathroom, you had to use body wash from the shower). The bed was fine, too soft for me but some may like it. But they pre-stocked the fridge so you couldn't even chill your own water. They want you to buy theirs. No coffee maker either, buy theirs. Kaleb at the bar was the best part of our stay. The area is gentrifying, but it's not there yet, and it did not feel safe at night. It's conveniently located, you can't argue that, but we won't be recommending it. Overall, it's almost there, but the owners still have work to do.

A Hollywood Jewel
I cannot say enough good things about my stay and it all begins and ends with the staff. Every single person I met was kind, personable, helpful, and just plain fun to talk to. Even the other guests I met were wonderful. The hotel itself is clean, beautifully designed, and easy to navigate. The courtyard restaurant is comfortable and has really good food. The front lobby bar has great bartenders (who can actually make a cocktail) who have superior knowledge about the wine list and are completely engaging. I was a solo traveler and I never felt uncomfortable in the Cara. I also need to give one more shout-out to the staff for finding and arranging to return an item I left behind in my room, really above and beyond!

Great shower and bath towels
What a fun, lively chic hotel. The staff was amazing, they were friendly and helpful. The room was nicely done and the bath sheets were fabulous! (My husband and I tend to rate hotels by the water pressure in the shower and the towels) LOL. Would definitely stay there again.
