The "luxury" of this hotel is very superficial. It's moments from walking in to your room before the "ooooh" factor wears off as you see an ageing building with a hurried lick of paint on it. As nice as it was to not see mouldy silicone sealant in the bathroom, it's been so haphazardly applied I think I could have done it better. The bath was also rather dusty.
Positives: room was ready when we arrived early so could drop our bags straight in to our room with no fuss, the bed was big and comfortable, had a good night's sleep, and a warm shower.
Breakfast: poor quality, poor service (the staff are clearly stretched thin, so don't blame the floor workers), incredibly expensive for what it is.
Bar: actually quite pleasant and nice service. Prices are what you would expect.
Overall, this is a hotel that takes advantage of its location and charges the premium for it while cutting its own costs to within an inch of its life.
