Very DISAPPOINTING service!
Front desk personnel were not friendly or helpful. Day before I checked out there was a protest by different unions. Many people protesting were walking by the hotel and throwing lit firecrackers into the main entrance of the hotel. It was frightening considering how loud it was and it sounded like gunshots. I asked the hotel manager/supervisor what should be done by guests who are waiting to leave the hotel. He just threw his hands up in the air and didn’t say a word! Definitely didn’t instill any trust and was so unprofessional. If management couldn’t help guests, who were we to turn to? I decided to wait in the lobby until all the protesters had gone by fearing my safety. It took nearly 1 hour for all of the people to go by and several lit firecrackers thrown in front of the hotel while I waited. I found out a few minutes later that many of these people were police officers who were protesting! The following morning while I was checking out, the hotel manager-supervisor was at the front desk and would not make eye contact w me and made me wait while there was no line. He finally looked up and asked me to approach the desk. He never offered one word of apology regarding the incident the day before. He acted like nothing even happened. I plan to visit Belgium again but I WILL NEVER STAY IN THIS HOTEL AGAIN NOR WILL I RECOMMEND IT TO FRIENDS OR FAMILY.
