    Bad hotel

At reception was not told that they would take 2 seperatepayments so my bank rejected the payments I tried to explain that my system only authorises any payments I allow which was for total amount, I tried to explain but was told that they were right and I was wrong, I should have known to walk away then, but still checked in and got room key, was on third floor, good points double bed only good point, bad points bedside cabinet no handle could not open, other cabinet not been cleaned for a long time, wardrobe door would not close, dressing table left hand drawers would not open or shut, right hand drawers not fit for purpose found a menu in drawer from two weeks before stay, shower was to put it bluntly not use full at all, to fill bath took 38mins, sink not draining at all, toilet was comfortable but took 2 flushes to clear everytime, all in all room not really value at £117.00 per night would not recommend to anybody have stayed in brittania hotels before and the Carrington house was by far the worst

Should have just slept in my car.

The hotel lobby looks nice and fairly new but that just tricks you into thinking your room will be nice too. When we finally made it to our room (which was hidden away on a staircase between floors) our hearts sank. The room was so worn out and run down it had the appeal of staying in a medieval dungeon. The wallpaper was peeling, the carpet was filthy and threadbare and instead of a mint on your pillow I had an earwig! The next wonderful thing was the temperature. It was like a sauna. Unbearably hot. To combat this the hotel provided a fan which was so noisy it was like having a twenty year old, knackered diesel land rover idling in the corner of the room. We made two mistakes (other than booking) that night. We abandoned our precious parking spot at the hotel to go hunt for food and fun. When we returned three hours later there was no room at the inn (car park) so we ended up parked about 400 metres down the road in front of someone's house. The final annoyance was when we signed in to the swimming pool at the start of the adults only session and were soon joined by a group of kids more intent of pulling each other's underpants (yep they weren't even wearing swimming shorts) down than swimming. My advice is if this is your only option - keep driving.

Lovely overall stay would defiantly stay again!

The hotel was lovely and clean, the hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful, the swimming pool was lovely although the changing rooms could of been a bit cleaner!! The food was of a very high standard and plenty of choice! The bathroom was a bit tired but very clean! Overall a lovely stay, I would definitely go here again! Thank you everyone, especially the receptionist on duty during our stay.

    Most filthy and terrible hotel

Very old hotel that has not ever been maintained. The room was very dirty. The carpet was threadbare, worn, and full of stains and cigarette burns. It was very dirty and boiling hot, no fan or AC. The kitchen and food was very poor. The bathroom was moldy and dirty. Towels were rough and very worn. The room smelled of mold and cigarette smoke. The bed was old and linens were very suspect. No refrigerator in the room. The bar area was full of broken-down tables and chairs, an old TV. There is only one old pitiful window unit back in the bedroom to supply air conditioning. It was barely functional. The room felt damp and never seemed to air out. The staff was very unattentive . we paid £400 for 2 nights stay and it was a absolute waste of money Overall, one of the worst hotel I have ever stayed in.
