    The property wasn't as nice as it appeared online. Our spa bath was dirty, and one of the jets popped off as soon as we turned the spa on. One of the flysh buttons on the toilet didn't work, and we were provided with one toilet roll for a 2 night stay (lucky there was tissues). The bed was awful, it was so soft that we sink in very low, it wasn't a comfortable kind of soft. It felt like the mattress was trying to eat us. We were only provided with one thin blanket, which was nowhere near enough. Parking was very frustrating, we had to park 2 blocks away (no problem), but had to walk all our bags up with us as there is nowhere to drop off. It would have been nice to be provided with information on the best parking close by, because we couldn't find any where we could park our car for the whole weekend. We had to go collect our car by 6am to avoid huge fees (not ideal for a relaxing weekend away). However, the staff were very friendly and made check-in and check-out simple. The room itself was a good size. The bedroom closes off to become very dark, which was great. The shower pressure was amazing. There is a Chinese restaurant downstairs - very expensive and the food was terrible. It was like eating bad takeaway, but for 4 times the price. If you want to eat, head up the street for dumplings. Overall, the stay was ok, it served the purpose. Wouldn't stay again though.

    Very disappointing
    Checked into a 2 bedroom apartment (2adults and 3 children) and found 2 queen size beds and no rollaway. Called reception where a young man argued with me about me making a mistake with the booking yet I had paid an extra $90 fee for an additional person?? Was told there was no housekeeping staff on and there was no bed to be found anywhere! My daughter slept on the mouldy floor for the first night (which I paid $550 for). They managed to find a bed the second night only after my husband put his foot down. The service provided was absolutely terrible the first 24 hours but a redeeming factor was the lovely lady on check out - she could not have been more helpful. We came to Melbourne to watch the Ashes cricket test and have been many times before for either business or pleasure. This was the worst service we have ever received and the cleanliness of our apartment was the worst we have seen. The room smelt of mould, there was hair and mould in our bathroom and there were patches of mould growing on the carpet. There was inadequate towels left in the room and was not game to ask for more after having to ask for linen for my daughters floor sleep. After spending $866 for a 2 night stay I have to say I am a little more than disappointed!

    Poor 2.0
    Awful, considering the price!
    We stayed here for 6 nights. An absolute nightmare. We were first greeted by half of the front of the hotel missing its tiles and looking really old and rundown. Next, we were greeted at the front counter to be told that the hot water was not working on our room after a 10 hour international flight. As it was winter, Melbourne was quite cold. There was one split system heater in the whole apartment. No heating at all in any of the bedrooms. After using the heater for 15minutes, it started blinking with an error. The next day, I informed management of the problem. When we returned that evening, I was informed that maintenance had looked and found no problems. Once again, we had the same problem after 15 minutes of using it again. I decided to have a look at the filter and found about half a centimetre of dust covering the whole heater. I told management again. The same thing happened again. This time they just gave us a small foot heater to heat s two bedroom apartment in the middle of one of Victoria’s coldest winters. After complaining three times, nothing changed, so we gave up. When having a shower, water from the shower head covers half the floor making it really slippery, especially for kids. There was also mould on the ceiling of the bathroom. The phone cable is not attached to the wall making it really dangerous for small children (I have two). The front desk was not manned in the morning when checking out.

    Central location but not the room we booked
    The hotel is in a great location for sightseeing and enjoying great eateries. The kids enjoyed the pool which was small but just what was needed after a lot of travel. We had booked a two bedroom apartment but we were given two interconnected rooms. I was told the apartments were full and despite having my confirmation was told to take it up with Expedia. I was also told the apartments were much more expensive, and yet that was what my booking form said I had booked so that did not make me feel better!! The interconnected rooms (two bathrooms etc) might be ideal if you have teenage kids but I found it disconnected and was frustrated as I had selected the apartment having read another review on these interconnected rooms where someone felt their kids had to sleep too far away. So is the apartment offer a way of getting people to book where they otherwise wouldn't? Also we had loud air conditioning units outside our bedroom window which made sleeping the first night hard, kids room wasn't affected. This isn't a deal-breaker, we were comfortable, washer dryers useful, bathrooms large and small hob useful, but would I have booked the interconnecting rooms? No, and asking us to sort it with Expedia was not good form, not something I want to do when coming back from holiday.

    This apartment hotel is very happily situated amidst the vibrant Chinatown precinct of Melbourne. On the doorstep there are amazing eateries, theatres, shopping hubs, and easy access to public transport to take you further afield. Unfortunately the hotel itself is in desperate need of a makeover. Our room was reasonably clean but shabby, with a leaky shower, cracked tiles in the bathroom, and a coffee table so wobbly it was barely standing. The challenge of the hotel was the windows weren’t double glazed so the sound of the vibrant streets was heard all night long. We stayed over Easter so there was no cleaning of the room over the weekend. We asked for clean towels twice, but they were never delivered, with our room eventually being serviced after four days. Unfortunately the floors were not cleaned at all during our 6 day stay. I think they were very short staffed and unfortunately the hotel staff we talked to didn’t appear to know much about the local area or attractions. Many brochures in the lobby were months out of date. I think this place would suit a business traveller not too worried about look or feel, just passing through. Once we were out of the hotel, we absolutely adored Melbourne, a spectacularly vibrate and easy city to discover. We will be back to Melbourne but will try a different hotel chain next time.
