What a crap night
Well what a night . Noise vibrating the walls road works til 5am - not the hotels fault but the noise …. The shaking… the air con had a lowest temp setting of 20deg … so it was a warm room . Not great in the middle of summer. The window didn’t open .. wouldn’t have helped really as it would have just let more noise in . The room was clean and the bed comfy . Unfortunately the sleep in the clean comfy bed wasn’t long or refreshing. Brakfast well the trip couldn’t get worse … yup it could . We told the hotel prior to and on arrival that one of us had celiac disease. We were told no issue the restaurant knows and breakfast will be no issue . Unfortunately chef said no .. no too cooking for a celiac .. until we complained then that changed to yes he will but after he has cooked for everyone else and he can clean the kitchen to make sure the food isn’t contaminated with gluten . So after the tears were wiped away and an apology offered by the manager who was very pleasant breakfast was made. The breakfast unfortunately may not have been as gluten free as we had hoped as a sore stomach ensued for a few hours after eating. So nice clean hotel Really nice manager Crap stay and breakfast not great for celiac who was made to feel like a second rate citizen . We did get a discount but even the price we ended up paying really wasn’t worth what we got .
