A quiet room?
I specifically requested a quiet room when I made a booking three months prior to my stay. The room they prepared for me was on the fifth floor, facing the motorway with a constant flow of traffic. I noticed, when I went out for dinner around 7.30pm, that there was hardly any traffic on The Terrace. I assumed that rooms facing The Terrace would be quieter. Maybe the staff do not know about their rooms? On another note, I find their e-mail correspondence to be very impersonal. For instance, when I enquired about a quiet room, their reply was just ‘noted’ with no greeting or signature. A little more personal touch would be good. (At least, the receptionist when I checked in was friendly.)

Adequate stay
We stayed for a few day to have a look around and go to the Peter Jackson Exhibition at the War Memorial Museum. The shower area was slightly damaged and leaked (reported), there is no counter around the bathroom sink and the blow drier had to be used off a different power outlet, not in the bathroom. The cleaners were very good and helpful, counter staff friendly enough but could do better to make people feel like welcome guests, in comparison to other such accommodation that we have experienced.

Great location and nice little apartment. We were out and about in wellington so only needed a room for sleeping. Compact size but functional and had everything we needed. Front desk hours restricted over the weekend which was a little annoying when you have an evening flight as cant store bags past 4pm.

Terrace retreat
I have stayed at the Quest on the Terrace twice now. Checkin and out was a breeze and the room was ideal for a short stay. The street noise was some what annoying but understandable given the location. I would stay there next visit.
