The Marriott is across the street from Duluth's downtown town green. The park includes a splash pad for kids, green space, and when I was there, a concert. In the area for a funeral, I wanted a place away from the freeway where I could get outside and walk. Downtown Duluth is small, but you can walk to restaurants and shops in the area. It's a quick drive from I-85. So location was the high point. Parking was easy.
My elderly mother joined me at the last minute. Having not booked an accessible room, she had trouble walking the distance to our room and could not step into the tub. If you have mobility challenges, make sure to book something accessible.
Overall, the property was clean. There is a nice outdoor area to escape the freezing 68 degree lobby temp. Lots of space in the lobby if you need to work. My only dislike was the overwhelming perfume smell in the lobby. I think the chain is trying to create a branded fragrance, but it's annoying and cloying. People sensitive to fragrances beware.
