Out of all Japan stays, and that’s serval trips a year, including at unmanned properties, this was certainly the worst room ever plus worst experience with customer service. First of all. The AC in the bedroom didn’t work. It was 35C during the day and 30c at night. It took 40 min to get to a staff who righteously told me you should know that is an unmanned property. Fine. But functioning AC is basic requirement for this city. Asked us to search for an AC remote that doesn’t exist at first claiming AC isn’t broken, it’s just missing the right AC remote. Then tried to teach us how to read the remote “properly” to turn it on. The flap was obvious down and black mold showing, indicating it’s not been cleaned nor working. Then requested us to approve sending someone in to check and asked us to stay in the room for that. We’re paying for one night hotel stay, less than 18 hours from check in, 1 hour already wasted by then, and it’s close to dinner time, we had planned to shop and have dinner for the one night stay. We asked so what if they send someone and finds out it is broken. Can’t answer that, we’ll figure it out by then. We agreed to have them send ppl in but we won’t be waiting around for the jr maintenance work that should have been performed before they sell the room. We told the platform they’re not allowed to perform any work as dust & mold would get on all our stuff and bedding. By the time we got back, close to midnight. AC still broken, they asked you want check out?
