Perfect location - close to downtown (walkable) and to subway. Really good breakfast with broad meals selection. Underground parking with direct hotel access.

I could tell by the photos that I should not have high expectations for elegance or comfort. I was right about the room. Mostly the state of the burnt & destroyed stovetop and the deeply set disgusting dirt deep in the refrigerator handles and all along the rubber lining. Luckily i take disinfectant wipes, but that could only partially and superficially fix the problem. I could tell the cleaning staff try to keep it clean, judging by the people staying there on a long term basis that it's no easy job. But the appliances themselves must be replaced. The heater is a problem we could not regulate it so we had to keep the windows open, but then could not sleep because of the traffic and street noise. Beds are comfortable. We could not get the TV to work. The wifi worked. The room is very small. Not a comfortable layout. Furniture is worse than your first sawdust constructions while a poor student. When I read that they had a 5 star breakfast I assumed it was an over exaggeration and laughed based on the room. But indeed, weirdly it was an absolute 5 out of 5 stars. They had everything. Amazing selection and had so many delicious options for vegans and vegetarians. What a great idea. They had all the milk substitutes and quinoa salds, vegan pates and just everything. I was shocked and thrilled. One of the best hotel breakfasts I've had in years around the world. Awesome. The waitstaff is on it & so polite. Front desk is Excellent, polite, professional. Parking perfect. Mix.

Good stay for short break
We stayed for 3 nights at The Carathotel. It was in a good location, walking distance to everything and right by an underground station. When we checked in I was disappointed to find we had twin beds but the lady said we could push them together. Although the room was very basic and dated, it did the job. We weren't there to sit in the room. Breakfast (as everyone mentioned) is really good. Lots of choice and a great bonus to be included in the price. We would stay here again if visiting because of the location and breakfast

We stayed here 10 years ago and again this year. Both times we had one of the apartment units which give you a small kitchen nook with a mini fridge, a 2 burner stovetop, a microwave, plates, cups, pots and pans and utensils. The room seemed small when we checked in but we were there for 22 nights and never felt cramped. In addition to a bed, we had a sofabed, 2 chairs and an L-shaped desk which also served as a table for meals. The entry contained a wardrobe with shelves to hold all our clothing. The hotel included a breakfast buffet and it was fun seeing what people from other countries eat for breakfast. There were numerous healthy options and you could also get eggs cooked to order if you wanted scrambled or sunnyside up eggs to go with the hot sausages in the buffet. The lobby has a cash bar and a bowl of apples. Free tea, coffee and leftover pastries from breakfast are available in the lobby until 6PM. The hotel is just outside the old city walls and it's easy to walk to almost all the main tourist sites. The neighborhood is lively with tons of restaurants, supermarkets, banks and Euro Stores (Europe's Dollar Stores) for items you forgot or cheap postcards and souvenirs. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. We had them make reservations for dinner, get us a cab to the airport and even give us an empty wine bottle to use to launch our New Years Eve fireworks. They have a tie-in with a fitness center around the corner for discounted day memberships.

Very good
The breakfast selection was satisfactory. Really liked the salmon and salad. The choice of cheese, breads and pastries is good too. Really liked the complimentary coffee machine at the lobby; it was refreshing to have a latte after returning from sightseeing, especially in this cold month.
