STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!
The room smelled like mold, the shower was dirty and I once had to chase the housekeeper for soap after she had “cleaned”my room. No iron, body lotion or wash cloth. The pool water was cloudy and guests were not allowed to use it. The reception staff could have been professional and friendly. I felt discriminated against because I am a black man. I was told by one of the employees I could not enter the premises without a shirt which I complied immediately, while white guests walked into the hotel and even hung out at the lobby shirtless. They were white, obviously. Also, every time I tried to get a beach towel or return it, I was ignored; customer service was horrible. My stay was not a single penny’s worth.

Needs a bit of TLC
This is a comfortable hotel with good sized rooms and attentive staff. However the hotel is a little tired. The owners need to spend some money just to give it a bit of a refresh. Simple things like replacing the blackened sealant from around the baths would make it feel clean and cared for.

The property is in an ideal location, 2 blocks from Copacabana beach and easy to access popular sites and restaurants. However, the property is old. It needs some major renovations although the rooms and dining are clean.
