Comfy bed
Lovely room with comfy bed, stairs are steep to get up to the rooms and the lift takes forever (although they advertise as the slowest lift in Amsterdam!) so not great for some guests!!

Good value, good location, just a couple of faults
Our room was on the ground floor behind reception. It looked out onto a small enclosed garden so felt nice and private. It was reasonably spacious and clean, although the bathroom was very small - it was almost impossible to close the door while sitting on the toilet - not exactly ideal for paying a call of nature when sharing a room! The room itself could do with some finishing touches to improve it; lamps by the bed would be a useful addition, a mirror over the "desk" for doing hair and make-up and the desk itself would benefit from being bigger as there was hardly space to put anything on it because of the coffee machine and mugs etc. The same problem existed in the bathroom, there being nowhere to put your toiletries. As others have said, the wallpaper was a little flaky and the bathroom which was really a wet room with shower, basin and toilet which resulted in water going everywhere when using the shower (the shower was very good though). The real issue was noise. The hotel is not noisy but the walls provide no insulation from any and every noise that the staff and guests make. It made sleeping very difficult and made myself and my partner wonder about our privacy with our room being behind reception because we could hear EVERYTHING! Apart from that, all the staff were friendly, polite and obliging and the location was excellent for getting around on foot or by tram; restaurants within a stone's throw and a Lidl around the corner. Overall, good value for money.

Poor
Pictures look great but do far more justice to the room than is deserved. comfortable bed but that's about it. The main shower head did not work in our room, only the small hand held part did. After mentioning this to the staff member at the desk they said someone would be able to look at it the following afternoon and that we could be moved to a different room the next day if it would not work. As we left the next morning i told another member of staff at the desk that we would be out for the day so the room is free to have the shower looked at but he did not know what I was talking about and made another note of it. Our friends ended up being moved to the other available room as their room had a leaking radiator and the bathroom flooded out to the bedroom when they showered as the drains were backing up. The overall cleanliness of the rooms was very poor. Scrunched up tissues at the bottom of the wardrobe. hair tie and clips on the floor and in the bedside lockers which were also filthy. There was also a very load cat roaming around the halls inside the hotel one of the mornings so a lie-in was not an option. And as i had allergy medication with me I was luckily not affected by the pet. Lovely city and would visit again. Just not this hotel.

Spaciest room, comfortable bed, overall pleased! But was not pleased with the bathroom shower as it had no door which flooded everywhere everytime I used it, and was quite small bathroom.

At hotel stay with friendly and helpful staff
Great stay. The gentleman at reception was especially helpful and friendly. He let me change rooms after the first night so i was on the ground floor. The location is great, easily walkable distance from the best bits of Amsterdam. Highly reccomend and i will be staying next time for sure

Cute hotel on outskirts of amsterdam
Nice hotel on the outskirts of amsterdam, takes around 20 mins to walk into the centre. Room was nice and spacious and a huge very comfy bed. Good facilities in the room with a coffee machine and hairdryer in the bathroom. Wallpaper could do with redoing as was starting to peel off the wall. Unfortunately the hallway gets quite noisy and you can hear everything if youre trying to sleep but thats the only complaint, would stay again

Great value
Amazing location - everything was less than 20 minutes walking distance away. Room was basic but clean and a decent size with a kings size bed. Walls are abit thin so you can hear movement from above and below and the stairs were very steep (which is to be expected from. a traditional Amsterdam building). All staff we spoke to we're very friendly and helpful. Great value for money.

Brilliant Amsterdam Stay
Brilliant stay here at Sara's Boutique Hotel. Wonderful location and staff are very friendly and helpful. The cleanliness was great with the rook cleaned daily. The bathroom was a little bit small and the shower prayed water all over the floor but apart from that it was great! We could hear the lift every night but we got used to it. Id definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone!
