Great place to stay for a night or few days while visiting NYC. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. You can check in early for a small fee and store your luggage before and after your stay if you want to explore the city, without lugging your bags with you. The building is generally quiet and the rooms are clean and comfortable. I would note the St James as one of my top choices for a NYC stay.

Perfect for a short stay in NYC, basic and not over the top. On the smaller side. Nice AC and location. Other doors were loud but not bad noise levels besides that.
