Could have been excellent, but?
A great hotel with its contemporary bedrooms, pools, lounges, gym, spa and the wonderful staff. The facilities are excellent and clean,the gardens are simply amazing. However??? There are some practices and procedures at this hotel that have left us puzzled. I’ve never been asked to pay for my stay up front before? Calling it a deposit? I call it full prepayment?
The food was a big let down, at first all seemed well but we did notice that the food seemed like the same food but a little different. After a few days this was confirmed and we were not the only people to notice this. The other strange practice was that the chefs seemed to be preparing their own meals before the end of service, ok? But not ok when there were food stations empty and people were looking around for fresh food. I’ve never seen this in any hotel in the world - ever? They had an amazing facility in the ala carte restaurant it is truly beautiful however, the food was not ala carte by any stretch of the imagination and the service was poor at best. My wife didn’t touch her meal as it was badly over cooked but lukewarm, the waiter just picked it up and scraped her meal into a slop bucket on a trolly, bizarre that he didn’t even ask why the food had been left? All in all a good hotel for a few nights but not any longer unless you are happy with the same food, morning noon and night. I have to say that all the bar staff, cleaning staff and waiters were excellent.
