Our stay in iceland was amazing hotel faultless, shower wouldn’t work but we phoned front desk and they let us use another room and it was sorted by the time we got back was happy about that. Breakfast had a bit of eveything.

Exceptional 10.0
The staff at the hotel were brilliant - friendly and so helpful, particulatly in organising or, due to the weather, reorganising trips and travel. The position of the hotel is excellent, very easy walking to the main sites. A downside might be that city restrictions mean that buses and minibuses can't now stop outside the hotel itself but Stop no. 1, a main pick-up/drop-off point, is less than 100m away.

The location was ideal and the free breakfast was substantial enough for a day of exploring.

Fair 4.0
Room was outside of the main building, steps to access, seemed to be used as general dumping ground by the hotel. Noisy rooms due to wooden floors, front door did not shut properly so more noise as people try to slam it shut! Ground floor so no privacy if opened blinds. No WiFi for 36hrs made it difficult to plan trips and check weather - staff were very dismissive as it still worked in main building.

The property is close to shuttle pick-up / drop-off points. Close to downtown to walk to shops, restaurants, sites. Staff is exceptional!! Friendly, kind and gave great advice on where to go for food and sites we had on mind and extras we didn't.

Perfect location with fantastic hotel staff
First class! The hotel is in a fantastic location, easy walking distance to the harbour, museums and churches. Also only a two minute walk to the main bus stop for tour pick ups. The hotel staff were brilliant; the bar and breakfast staff were so friendly and the reception staff were very helpful. From day one, when they cut the padlock off my suitcase (as the key had broken in the lock!) to rebooking us on a Northern Lights tour when our operator cancelled at the last minute, they genuinely could not have done more to help us.I highly recommend this hotel.

Poor 2.0
Not the type of hotel to help when things don’t go according to plan. My partner and I booked a stay here for a quick four-nights trip before the New Year. Our flight was cancelled and the next flight was not available for more than 24 hours. As our trip was already very short, this reduction of a day meant that the trip really did not make sense anymore. We had booked our trip through Expedia, so we reached out to them to see about getting a refund for hotel and tickets. Expedia called Hotel Reykjavik Centrum several hours before our check-in time and the hotel REFUSED to work with Expedia, and simply stated that their policies did not allow them to refund us. Based on this, we asked for a credit for a future stay and they still refused to provide any help. We then reached out to the hotel directly, and the manager did not take our calls even though each time they told us to call at a specific time to speak with the manager. We pleaded for a credit for a future stay with employees via phone and on emails that went ignored. Hotel Reykjavik Centrum was stubbornly unwilling to work with us at all, and ultimately charged us for the full length of our reservation even though it was canceled several hours before check in. We would recommend you do not stay at Hotel Reykjavik Centrum, it’s simply not the type of hotel one needs when things do not go according to plan.
